> 24 hourThis seems like a really well built unit. However, I have been unable to use it. Since I was using this for a Windows computer, I went as directed to the website for instructions to re-format it. No such instructions exist on the Glyph website. I googled for instructions and found some supposedly from a Glyph tech (who, by the way, apologized at the beginning for the lack of instructions on their website). This is not the first time Ive had to re-format a hard drive for Windows, though its been a while. I never had trouble before, but his instructions were hard to follow and often led to a dead end. So far, I have a rather expensive paperweight, but I have hopes for the future. My suggestion, if you have a Mac, buy this. If you have a Windows PC, proceed with caution.

> 24 hourAfter a bit of a challenge to configure for my MacBook Pro 2017 - works as expected. Initially the MacBook didnt recognize (as with my Passport as well). Some conflict or another.. a quick lookup on troubleshooting sites and blogs and problem solved.

> 24 hourGlyph is using grey market hard drives inside the enclosure. So either they cover the warranty to make you whole since they bought it grey, or you are out of luck. Why buy a product that wont source its components from proper channels?

> 24 hourBought this almost a year ago, and just had the unfortunate heart-stopping crash on my MacBook Pro hard drive, where I had to erase everything to factory settings. I was able to effectively restore all of my data from this device, since I’d been using time machine backup with it. Highly recommend for peace of mind!

> 24 hourIve owned this Glyph only for three months but it has been plugged in and unplugged dozens of times, was carted across the globe, loaded and unloaded with data and has not skipped a beat. The USB 3.1, gen 2 is great. The case looks protective and seems to do the job.

> 24 hourNOT COMPATIBLE WITH WINDOWS 10. The Amazon page says compatible with Windows XP and above. That is NOT accurate. After receiving the hard drive, I found out that I needed to format the BlackBox Plus for Windows. No instructions for Windows 10, not even on their website. It is NOT compatible with Windows 10. I took a chance and plugged it in.The computer never recognized it. Cant format a drive that the computer doesnt even see. I then searched the internet. Other Windows 10 operators had posted the question too. No answers. On the Glyphtech website, I found a users manual for the Black Box (not the PLUS). It was dated December 2013. The BlackBox Plus does not have a users manual, only an info sheet. No instructions on Windows 10 there either. I emailed the company. I got an initial canned response along with a link to frequently asked questions. Well, it is a Saturday. Perhaps Ill hear from them on Monday. That will be too late. Ive already printed the return label and boxed it up. In closing, if the visible quality of this product is this bad I certainly wouldnt spend good money on it. However, I did and now I regret it. Buyer beware.

> 24 hourThese Glyph drives are the only external hard drives I trust to last. Quick and pretty quiet, they have never failed on me and this is the third one Ive purchased. The other two are still going strong after several years.
