These are ideal for automating devices or lights that arent set up specifically for use with a home assistant. Unlike some other smart plugs Ive tried to use in the past, like all of their lighting products the Govee plugs are easy to set up and configure and work seamlessly with their app. Definitely recommend these.

It’s not just this brand, but this is the brand I own. These blocks stick out from the wall almost 2 inches. By the time you plug something in, the block and plug are 4-5” away from the wall, which means now furniture in front of an outlet (tv stand/dresser etc) must now sit at least 4-5” away from the wall also, leaving a giant gap. A design where the actual outlet was at the top or side would eliminate the excessive bulkiness!

Super easy to install and connect to google home. Use it to set a schedule for the Christmas tree, no more having to connect and disconnect the tree. I can also ask google assistant to turn it on and off. I had one of the plugs not work, but the rest were fine.

I purchased several Govee Bluetooth lightbulbs, and use them around my house. They are fantastic, offer many options, and best of all, I dont need to worry about wasting my limited bandwidth on yet another smart device, since many devices are currently connected to my router. I have older appliances that I would love to also control via the Govee App, so I purchased a 2 pack of these, hoping to consolidate multiple devices onto one app. The ad description says that these smart plugs work via WiFi and Bluetooth. I purchased them believing that I had an option of one or the other. Not the case. These ONLY work with WiFi. Bluetooth is only used ONCE, to connect them in the pairing process. There were a myriad of problems, resulting in me throwing away 3 in the trash, and keeping only 1, so brace yourself. Firstly, it needs a 2.4 ghz connection, which was a nuisance to activate on my router, since everything I have connected to it uses 5 ghz. Once I did that, I followed the instructions, and the red light on the Govee device NEVER turned blue. I restarted my router, made sure the settings were correct, and still nothing. I used a friends WiFi hotspot, set to 2.4, to see if that would work, and nothing. I decided to contact Govees Help Center, via the app. The rep was courteous, and did what he could to help, but he troubleshooted with me the exact same steps I had already performed, and still nothing. I was shocked, and thankful when he offered to send me two more, free of charge. When the two new ones arrived, the first one I took out of the box worked! The light turned blue, and I am still currently using it. I took the second one out the box, and it too decided to fail me, like the original ones I purchased. Thats 3 out of 4 that do not function. A 75% failure rate, is enough to tell me that these things are not worth buying. The one that I use, does function, but it doesnt use bluetooth to do it. Ive tested turning a device on and off, with bluetooth on my phone switched off, and it functions, proving that the process is entirely done through WiFi. For the record, WiFi is faster than Bluetooth. The Govee Lightbulb takes 3-5 seconds to connect on my phone, that has Bluetooth 5.0. The WiFi plug takes barely 1 second, which is amazing. The difference? When I recently moved, I was using my Govee Bluetooth bulbs BEFORE I even had my ISP connect Internet to my new address. I also took one of my Govee Bluetooth bulbs to my brothers house, for a party he had, and it worked, without having to pair it to his network. Too many smart devices rely solely on WiFi, and dont utilize Bluetooth enough. Not to mention how unreliable pairing these devices can be. I was willing to deal with the plugs being WiFi, despite being misled in the description. With 75% of the ones I tried, failing, and 100% of the Govee Bulbs that Ive purchased working, I can only wonder if my concerns are just.

This is the third brand of smart plug that I have purchased. This is by far the best that I have tried, the easiest to set up and program and is working great.

I bought these initially for Christmas decorations. They were super easy to coonect/install and set up a schedule. I can quickly toggle them on the app on my phone. Now that Ive got them Im thinking of more fun ways Id like to use them!

Cannot brag on these enough. Set up and connection is super simple - takes less than 2 minutes if you already have a Govee account. We currently have 1 set of Christmas lights, our mirror lights in the bathroom, and 1 set of bedroom lights set up on these. Its so convenient to able to turn on or off thru an app - especially because 2 of the light sets we have set up on Govee plugs are in very hard to get ti places. Definitely recommend.
