> 24 hourUpdated 6-28-2022 ... Now it works very very good! I FINALLY was able to get ahold of someone that could talk me through my problems (in May 2021), which was a few days after my original review. The problem was the soldering tips werent pushed in all the way. I was pushing them in by hand and would feel a gentle click as though it was solid and in place. As explained to me by the help desk, the tip needed to be pushed in even further! To get the tip in all of the way I had to leverage my body weight against the soldering pen and my work bench then push even harder to finally feel a second click. Now the tip is inserted all of the way and the soldering station works like a champ. A smaller second issue was adjusting the temperature. Its not so intuitive and theres a maximum temperature of, 840(?) I forget for sure the max temp but if you try to program above that temperature it becomes confusing as how to adjust temperature. Anyway, after that learning curve, those two issues, I now LOVE the soldering station. Gets to max temperature in like 5 seconds and works beautifully. This is my frustrated review from May-ish 2021 .... Bought it for school well in advance because I read this brand was the best. Constant e5 error. Unusable. Hakko stole over $300 from me. Garbage. I now read all the complaints of this e5 error. Hakko ruined my day in class and now Im way behind everyone else.

> 24 hourI have purchased this station to replace a non-regulated Weller iron and it is a surprising experience for me. The Hakko iron is so quick and powerful and I like the sleep mode as well. The spare tip stand is a nice touch. At the beginning I wanted to get a Chinese copy of this station. I could get it more than 2 times cheaper than the original Hakko. Now I am glad I did not do that. I own a professional tool and I enjoy every minute working with it.

> 24 hourFantastic soldering station. Sleep function is nice. Almost instant heat-up from sleep mode. Iron is nice and light but still sturdy feeling. Iron also allows holding very close to the tip meaning more accuracy when soldering.

> 24 hourI was almost born with a soldering iron in my hand decades ago. In college, my part time job was wiring and soldering VHF aircraft ground radios. I decided to splurge on this Hakko to replace a cheap (~$50) Chinese soldering station. Wow and wow. The cord is a nice long length, the iron holder is the perfect size. I love the sleep mode, no more burned out tips. The chisel tip this kit comes with is a great all around tip for most applications. Its worth the money. Yes, really. *Update Nov 11, 2018:* I have a few more hours using this Hakko and I am even more pleased with my purchase. The iron holder has worked great for my medium size hands. I cant believe Ive waited to long to finally buy a good iron. By the way, I would stay away, far far away from the many 951 Chinese Hakko clones on the market. Ive watched several teardowns videos of the clones and they are basically garbage. Save your money. Ive also bought genuine Hakko tips, I dont trust Chinese knockoff products.

> 24 hourThis is my second HAKKO unit. When I wanted to add a second soldering station, I had no doubt about what to buy. This model seems to be near perfect for my needs. Certainly a very very high end hobbyist/light commercial unit or a mid range commercial ability. Heat control is great. Balance of unit seems good---not difficult to grip for long sessions. Huge range of available tips allow for many applications. First project was a homemade PCB that I designed and carved on a SNAPMAKER (also purchased/reviewed on AMAZON). My skill at design and production of the board created a couple of soldering problems...but a quick change of tips got me to the finish line for the project. A good mechanic never blames his tools for a poor outcome, but a average guy can improve performance with professional equipment. My Hakko units have made my soldering look better/work better than my skill level alone would provide. Spend the extra bucks.......cant imagine you will ever regret it.

> 24 hourI absolutely love this. What an amazing tool this is. Near instant heat, consistent temperature. Not sure how I managed to solder for so many years without discovering Hakko.
