> 3 dayPerfect for soldering wiring together and perfect for soldering any gauge wire to a deans connector. Ive used loads of bad solder tips in the past and decided to go with the Hakko - I havent looked back since. Probably the best electronics purchase I have made.

Greater than one weekIm at best a novice user of soldering irons. I was struggling with getting enough heat into heavy coax using the factory tip and kept causing more damage than anything. This made all the difference for me with being able to consistently create a good solder joint. I should have ordered this at the same time as the actual soldering iron and saved myself a lot of hassle and wasted coax

> 3 dayTHESE FIT OLD HAKKO EQUIPMENT AND ARE A REPLACEMENT FOR THE DISCONTINUED 900M-T TIPS. Excellent tip. I have quite a few smaller 900M-T tips for fine work, but this 5.2mm T-18 tip is fabulous for heavy-gauge lithium-polymer batteries. I solder battery connectors to 10 and 12 gauge wires, and this is the tip for that job. Heats quickly, thoroughly, and is a must for those fat wires. Since Hakko doesnt market the 900M-T tips any longer, it was good to find that the T-18 tips are an exact replacement (length and tube diameter) for my old Hakko iron and station.

> 3 dayWhats great is these tips work on the radio shack model, which rat shack does not offer tips for. There are also several other rebranded hakkos that can use these awesome high quality tips. I use them for large heat sink and SMT work. RF amplifiers with super fast solders, even on the biggest heat. Sinks. Obviously the small tips for the SMT, but this chisel is great for large copper boards and getting between transformers. Since Hakko and radio shack versions are ceramic with auto features the tips last a very long time without loosing the tin. Ive even overheated several times and it retins well. Over 998 degrees. For hours. I guess I didnt need to buy extras, been a year now and still using the first version of each size.
