Hakko T18S3P Tip for Fx-888 Station, 5.2mm

Wow, I thought soldering was a chore till I found the hakko gear. Now I love it. I literally soldered up by hand 4000+ lithium batteries over the beginning of covid ( isolation issues) with this tip and I just replaced it 3 years later and hundreds of hours running and 20,000 solder touches latter. The first I burned through but my first other shack brand and Wellers never would have gone this far.

These Hakko tips are of high quality and coated for corrosion protection, the tips are also coated for long life. Hakko has tips for every possible soldering job, you can tell these tips are made to last. I purchased many different Hakko tips for various soldering jobs along with my Hakko FX-888, there are some 40 different tips. Highly Recommended!

I had to replace my original soldering iron that I use for making Stained Glass artwork and wanted something better than the typical low-quality irons offered. I found the Hakko FX-888D and decided on it, but was stumped as to which of the many available tips to purchase for SG work. I bought a multi-set that had a couple smaller chisel tips, and they “might” work for projects with thin solder lines, but for the typical soldering we do with stained glass, this is the tip. Perfect size, heats wonderfully, and the iron is like night and day!

THESE FIT OLD HAKKO EQUIPMENT AND ARE A REPLACEMENT FOR THE DISCONTINUED 900M-T TIPS. Excellent tip. I have quite a few smaller 900M-T tips for fine work, but this 5.2mm T-18 tip is fabulous for heavy-gauge lithium-polymer batteries. I solder battery connectors to 10 and 12 gauge wires, and this is the tip for that job. Heats quickly, thoroughly, and is a must for those fat wires. Since Hakko doesnt market the 900M-T tips any longer, it was good to find that the T-18 tips are an exact replacement (length and tube diameter) for my old Hakko iron and station.

This tip work like a wonder compared the one which came with the soldering kit. I use it for all general soldering jobs.

What can I say, Hakko tip! Good price, shipped quickly.

I purchased a cheap china made soldering station and the tips did not melt the solder properly, I replace with this T18 Hakko tip and what a difference it improve the performance of the soldering station.
