> 3 dayBack in 2012 I had my first daughter and I had quite a few HALO SleepSacks for her, but she hated being swaddled! Our son was born in 2015 and we had one swaddle for him, but he was indifferent toward it. He didnt seem to hate being swaddled, but he also didnt need it to sleep well. We welcomed our 2nd daughter this June and she absolutely loves being swaddled, but since our other 2 children didnt use their swaddles I hadnt purchased any for this little one because I thought it would be a waste of money! The nurses blanket-swaddled her while we were in the hospital, but upon arriving home I was too paranoid to blanket-swaddle her for bedtime because I was paranoid that it would somehow come undone and pose a suffocation risk. I put her down for sleep unswaddled and she was terribly restless and kept waking herself with her startle reflex. Desperate for some sleep and wanting her to be well-rested, too, I ordered a HALO SleepSack in the newborn size through Amazon and chose same-day shipping. We both slept wonderfully that night and have done so since. She is now 13 weeks-old and we still swaddle, but we do so with one arm out and we will soon be transitioning to swaddling with both arms out, in case she attempts to roll in her sleep (we havent had that issue so far). I highly recommend this swaddle. I have checked out other brands in stores and it seems to me that the HALO SleepSack is definitely the best there is.

> 3 dayCozy but material is so soft that my little one can easily break her arms out compared to our thicker fleece halo swaddle…

Greater than one weekI highly recommend the HALO sleepsack swaddle. Every new parent should have one in newborn size. Get it before he or she arrives, so you save yourself a trip to the store in those first few days! For the 2 days in the hospital and the first night at home, we swaddled our little girl in receiving blankets (tried waffle weave, thin & stretchy, thick & strong types of blankets). Well wrapping her in blankets didnt last long because she got out of them, and with her arms flailing she kept waking herself up. Not to mention, I lost sleep worrying if the suddenly loose blanket would suffocate her. After the 1st night at home, we stopped by Babies R Us and bought 3 different brands of sleep sacks. We ended up trying this Halo Swaddle Sleep sack, and the Summer Infant one (We didnt even try the swaddlepod. Just looked scary, so we returned it). Well the Summer Infant swaddler was really cute. It worked for the first little bit, but when she got *a little* bigger (like a few weeks), the velcro stopped holding. Either she got too big, or after a few times in the wash the velcro became useless. I think its a combination of both. As for the HALO Swaddle, she has been using it every day and night. My quicktake on the item: SIDS prevention: I have NO concern with this item, no more than any other general concern I feel for my baby all of the time anyway. Yes, sometimes she is able to loosen the tight wrap a bit, and it comes up above her mouth. However...this can happen with any sleepsack or receiving blanket. Plus, if its coming up a little higher then it is looser. Its not tight over her mouth (as some reviewers have claimed) Our own sleep: Every once in a while, my husband thought hed wrap her in a receiving blanket...hes incredible at swaddling, but she could get out in 10 minutes. We have never had better sleep than with this product. It is rare that she can get out of it. This is a baby that kicks and flails constantly. Appearance/fabric: The fleece factor is not my favorite. If you have ever owned a fleece jacket, you will know that it attracts every hair, fuzzball, what-have-you in the vicinity. Its also quite warm. Obviously we have AC, but during the hot hot summer we kept her in tshirts + sleepsack. For this reason, I didnt always feel comfortable putting her in her cute footie pajamas. Now that were hitting fall, i am able to put her in regular pajamas when using the sleepsack Size: She was born 72 and 20 inches. The newborn size lasted us till now at 10 weeks. She is currently 102 and 22 inches. I am back to order the small size because her feet are about to hit the bottom of the blanket. Quality of velcro: It has been through several washes, and I see no difference in the velcros ability to hold. Unlike the summerinfant brand. We always try to remember to close the velcro before washing. Other reviews: (1) mention of loops in front - I dont see these 2) claims about losing teeth? - I have no idea how this would happen. The zipper starts at the top and comes down so the pull-tab ends at her feet, so how a baby could cut her teeth on the zipper I dont know. Many pajamas have zippers so I dont know how this is any different.

> 3 dayPurchased after getting the pink fleece swaddle so that we could have an extra however it became our nap swaddle because it didnt have a double zipper like the pink one did so getting her in and out in the middle of the night was annoying. It did help us transition our 3 month old from being swaddled with arms in to using more as a sleep sack with arms out. Would recommend if thats your plan of action to transition.

> 3 dayMy babies started with these out of the hospital and I can’t say enough about how much they helped with sleeping soundly. We moved up sizes and are now about to start the transition to arms out. It’s nice to be able to stay with the same sleep sack all the way through! Highly recommend this product! Wraps snuggly and doesn’t bunch up at the face.

> 3 dayAs a former NICU nurse, I would buy this sleep sack for every baby shower I went to. Now that I am a new mom I use them constantly myself. The startle reflex is a natural reflex babies have that can awaken them. If you want better sleep, swaddle!! But use a swaddle that your baby can’t break out of easily. These sleep sacks use basic Velcro to hold the baby tight. And as your baby gets bigger you can set their arms free by attaching the Velcro around their torso instead. This sleep sack has helped my baby learn the sleep through the night by 3 months. And they have thicker ones for winter and thin ones for summer. I’ve stocked up!

> 3 daySuper frustrated with this product. I absolutely love the sleepsack, which is why I wanted to order this one. I got one when I left the hospital but wanted a girlier one for my daughter for fun. Upon putting the sleepsack on her I noticed the zipper is backward. It is supposed to zip from the bottom up and this one zips from the top down. I am not sure if this is a one off mess up by manufacturer or if they changed the way the product is made. It does make it nice to change the diaper without unzipping the whole thing but Im nervous about accidentally catching her neck skin in the zipper if shes squirming while Im putting it on.

> 3 dayThe sleepsack swaddle has been amazing keeping our little one warmer since his room is on the cooler side compared to the rest of the house. I ordered both the Dino & cream in newborn size. I gave it 4 stars over all because the cream came with the 2 way zipper but the Dino design swaddle did not, and having the 2 way zipper is HUGE. The Dino zipper starts at the top and works it’s way down. This is probably great for diaper changes but I’m not a fan of starting my only zipper at the top, especially with our little one. Overall, love the sleepsack!

30-11-2024I had a small issue with my order, and customer service made it more than right. Its very difficult to find a company that goes so far out of their way for a single customer. That being said, these have been a lifesaver for my sister and her husband. Traditional swaddling takes a lot of practice for exhausted first time parents, and this takes the guesswork away. Her husband was already singing Halos praises on day one home from the hospital. Baby G loves it too! 10/10
