> 3 dayGreat stuff for brazing and makes some very strong joints. Make sure you use a torch or commercial grade soldering iron.

> 3 dayI use silver solder a lot where I work. To join carbide to steel, steel to steel, brass to steel, well lets just say if you need two metals joined I know how to do that. So I am very good at working with all silver solder products. I used this at home to give a keychain skull a silver coat. I also used to mend some old broken jewelry. with the 56%silver this is not the ideal solder for steels or brass or copper. Just because its costly. If the silver color is not needed I would use a solder with a lower silver content. The most important things to know are the flux and the temp the target metal must be to get this product to flow across the desired area. If the metal that you wish the silver solder to flow to is too cool in temp, the solder will bead up. This is because you melted the solder with out the target metal heated to the melting point of the solder. With the right flux and preheated metal you will get the solder to flow out easy. One this you should know about the flux is try to keep it free of contaminates such as oil, dirt, soot or oxides. This can cause the solder not to bond the the target metals, even thou it may seem to be holding, they can detach with a few pounds of force.

> 3 dayThis solder comes in a nice plastic can. It should be 31 gram of it, bit I have measured 32.5 gram - not a bad deal. The solder is in the form of 1/16 diameter wire coiled for convenience. It measures .062 in diameter. I did not try it yet, but hope it will work with Harris black flux and propane torch.

02-06-2025Not in original packaging. It could be fake? NOT what is pictured. Buyer Beware! I would not use it for anything critical.

Greater than one weekI have used this silver solder for decades. My dad introduced it to me and he used it to butt solder the ends of metal cutting bandsaw blades made from blade stock. This is an almost unbelievably strong joint and must flex also. I have used it for many things. It is very good soldering dissimilar metals also. Brass to iron, etc, etc, etc. Thank you.

> 3 dayI used this solder to repair a stainless steel double boiler. The four spot welds that attached the handle broke. This solder is very strong. This is the first time I have used this type of solder. Although I have some experience soldering electrical and plumbing projects, this is considerably more difficult. I suggest that a first time user practice on a repair where the final appearance is not critical. There are good tutorial videos on youtube.

> 3 dayDoesnt come in original packaging - just some wire zip tied in a loop. Without manufacturers packaging, I have no way to know that this is really Harris Safety-Silv. Could be anything! Picture clearly shows it in the manufacturers container.
