Perfect fit for my blower!!

after spending an afternoon trying to recoil the spring in my leaf blower I bought this and I was done in a few minutes.

This starter assembly is a direct replacement for post-2014 Hitachi RB24EAP blowers, with the alternative part # being 6600406. To check what year your RB24EAP was manufactured in, look at the serial number on the outside of the assembly. The 3rd digit is the year of manufacturing. So if your serial is P264023, the 6 is the year, so 2016. If your blower was made after August 2014, this is the correct assembly for your blower. If it was made before August 2014, then you need to look for part #6696572.

If you have a Hitachi blower made after Aug 2014, this is the part you need. Fixed for a friend of mine; part fitted perfectly and worked great, seems well made. See the review explaining manufacturing numbers on the unit, this was crucial in picking the correct part, as they made a running change to the starter.

This replacement is not close to the quality of the original. It has a short pull length to start. It also squeals a good amount when you have it extended when trying to start the blower. I should have saved my money and just replaced with a true original or not at all. I would not recommend this product.

This was delivered on time and took under 10min and a phillips screwdriver to install.

Spent an hour trying to re-string the old spool while shouting every expletive in my arsenal before breaking down and buying this. Easy to install and it worked. Buy it.
