> 3 dayThis a beautiful parasol. I use it to shade off the sun. It is dainty with silk and lace, but large enough to shade the sun from all sides. This only to be used as a parasol in the sun, not for rain. It is not waterproof

> 3 dayThe handle screws into the umbrella pole. Very poor quality plastic handle, the inside broke on the first use and the handle just falls off now. Junk. Don’t waste your money.

> 3 dayI was kindly sent this product for honest reviewing purposes. * First important note: Because of the non-waterproof lace layer, Im pretty sure this is not a waterproof umbrella - its intended as a sun protector parasol. * What it looks like closed: This umbrella has a really weird closing mechanism, where the end of the prongs of the umbrella fold upwards when the umbrella is closed (ie in the opposite direction that they should be when it opens). This means that when you open it the first ever time, you may have to hold all the prongs downwards in the right direction to coax the umbrella into opening up in the right direction... not ideal. But I found it remembers to open in the right way after the first time. Closed, it measures about 26cm end to end - a convenient compact size to fit into a bag. * About the materials: The exterior material a really pretty floral lace (not waterproof) with some glittery sparkle to it. Behind the holey lace layer is a shiny metallic-coloured layer. It looks very elegant. The interior is black and a little bit shiny. * About the closure: It wraps closed with a press-stud clasp. Because of the upward-prong-folded closing mechanism, it makes it a little bulky and tricky to close up neatly, but at least the press-stud manages to help keep it somewhat compact. I do feel like it may get quite creased closed with the upfold method - I think what Ill do is skip the upfolding step, and keep it closed to a less compact 45cm length, tied up with the stud-clasp. * About the handle: The handle is very short, gold and shiny, with a little 3-leaf clover design on it. Its more pretty than practical since it could be comfier to grip, but it does the job. * About opening it: Its a manual, not automatic, so you open it old-style by pushing the umbrella open. Its a bit stiff to click into place and made some tightening-fabricy-crinkly-creaky noises as it reached full-open stretch. It requires a little bit of force to get it to click into locked open position. * Canopy size: Its a nice size. I measured the open-canopy to be around 90cm in diameter. * Overall: Very pretty, girly and lacey - I really like the look of this parasol and it does a good job of keeping you shaded from the sun. I would have prefered it if the interior were a lighter colour rather than black and if the handle were comfier to hold.. and if the closing mechanism didnt involve the weird upfolding-bit, but other than those points for improvement, its a very pretty parasol.

> 3 dayRequirements: Attractive, goes with several outfits, easy to use, provides a physical sun screen. Pros: Sun shade, gorgeous, Im excited to use it. Cons: If youre not used to manually opening umbrellas/parasols it might take some practice and patience. Like I saw mentioned in other reviews, the grey does have a champagne undertone to the material underlying the lace cover. However I was prepared for that so it wasnt a surprise. (picture included) Also, as mentioned in other reviews, this parasol is completely manual when opening and closing. If youre used to umbrellas that open with the push of a button, I recommend opening and closing it at least once before you need to use it. Then youre not trying to figure it out in the sun. I found the easiest way to do it is open it partially and hold the shaft with your non-dominant hand while straightening the ribs until each one gently clicks in place (pictures included for reference). To collapse again, you have to decide whether you want to go as far as to fit the parasol back in the included case. If so you have collapse the parasol enough to unclip the ribs (similar as you did to open it), then neatly arrange the two layers of material to fold and roll along the length of the collapsed umbrella. Re-snap the strap and slip it back into the case while avoiding the draw strings. Yes, this takes some time. If you dont want to go through the effort, just leave the ribs snapped and ignore the case. The parasol has a gorgeous glitter that I adore, and as I said, I was prepared for the champagne tone based on other reviews. The inside of the parasol is opaque, but thats to be expected because its UV material designed to ideally act as a sun screen. Based on the construction, I would avoid using it in the rain. Im in California, so if Im using it for sun its not raining. If you live someplace with intermittent sun and summer rains, you would need an actual umbrella to stay dry. Rain might possibly damage the lace or glitter, Side note - it has a tassel on it which Ill probably remove because I dont think it will hold up long term. I hope this helps!

> 3 dayVisited Charleston with my grand-mother and she used it while walking around town to keep cool. She said it was surprising effective, more so than just a regular umbrella, and it looked much more stylish. She received lots of compliments.

> 3 dayI used this parasol for a wedding in Houston Tx in July. It was great keeping the sun out. I found it easy to open and close once I practiced with it once or twice. I was able to fold it and put it back in its sleeve ans stick it in my handbag. I got a lot of compliments on it. Very sparkly in the sun. I didnt recall if I could use it in rain. I was out today at a festival in New Jersey, a sudden summer shower started. I put the parasol up. It kept the rain out. Im leaving it open in my garage to air dry. Hope I didnt ruin it. All in all, I found it to be a good product. It did what it said it would do.

> 3 dayI had my good friend Serynne test this product out as it fits her style. Summer is almost here, and I am an outdoorsy goth! As much as I look forward to the sun and heat, my skin screams creature of the night. Searching the internet for ways to protect my creamy white skin from the sun, I was inspired by the porcelain women of the Victorian era and just had to get myself a parasol! This GORGEOUS, foldable parasol is more than I could have ever asked for. The black inner layer stays cool with the top gold/bronze reflecting the suns rays! I LOVE the layer of black lace with hints of sparkle for the magical visual appeal of class and charm. The foldable feature with a slip pouch makes it as easy to store in your purse as a small umbrella, or you can leave the lower half clicked down in place and its longer and thinner to store in narrow places. I may as well get one in every color for every occasion! ITS A FAIR GIRLS MUST HAVE OF THE YEAR! I was provided a sample for an honest review

Greater than one weekIt is very pretty and works great as a sunshade. However, it was smaller than I anticipated and was a little disappointed with the curvature. It is not wide across and curves pretty far down. These two combined make it difficult to hold without feeling like you are in cave. IT seems to be made pretty sturdily and the pattern is gorgeous. I bought it for a gift and my mother is very happy with it.
