HP Envy 110 e-All-in-One Printer (Brown)

> 3 dayThe design of this printer is beautiful; its the nicest looking printer Ive seen. Unfortunately, for actually printing it is the worst printer we have owned. There are numerous issues with printing from OS X Lion, many of which HP seems to be aware of as they have been commented on in the HP support forums for many months. Example issues: - Printer loses connection with the Mac (this appears to be an issue with both OS X Snow Leopard and with Lion). HPs solution is uninstall the printer and reinstall it, which does resolve the issue UNTIL the next time you go to print, and once again you have to uninstall and reinstall the printer. - Changing simple options on the print dialog (e.g. print in black & white only) results in about 80% of the page printing, and then the printer hangs with an unintelligible alpha-numeric error message that HP support doesnt even seem to be able to figure out - By default the printer ships enabling automatic updates to the printer firmware if the printer is connected to the Internet. A potentially very nice feature, which unfortunately for a fair number of users results in the printer freezing up partially through the update. Only way to get this resolved is to ship the printer back to HP. We were hoping that when the replacement printer arrived, the other issues would have been resolved. Unfortunately, this new printer suffers from the same issues. HP support did recommend that we turn off the automatic printer updates. Oddly, about the only thing that works reliably on this printer is printing from iPad and iPhone! Just today after trying to print the same doc from the Mac to the HP four times with no success, I switched and printed it from the iPad. It worked fine. My advice is avoid HP if you have a Mac.

20-11-2024I have owned this for several years now. Never a problem printing, copying or scanning. Looks like a fine piece of equipment on my desk. It does so much more than print, copy and scan, but I have no use for the other functions. You can fax from it, and it communicates with iPhone and iPad well. To be honest, I really dont avail myself of all its features. If you are like me, you might want to forgo the bells and whistles. Also, even on the most efficient settings, it uses a lot of ink. The ink is not refillable so be prepared to buy new ones each time. It also doesnt do well unless you are buying the genuine HP ink.

> 3 dayI have been using my HP Envy for about two months and it has performed exceptionally! The sleek design allows me to display it proudly instead of trying desperately to find somewhere to put the ugly duckling that I had before. I previously owned a Lexmark 7550 all-in-one printer. Every single time I used it, it said I needed ink. I have printed ten times more on this printer and still havent been told it has low ink. On the Lexmark, I used Lexmark Brand XL ink cartridges and still had to replace them frequently. The ONLY thing I miss with this printer is the auto document feed...but I only used it on my last printer a few times in three years. I think Ill get over it!

> 3 dayThe HP Envy sets up well with Mac, the network was easy to set up,and all the web based applications works well. If you are buying this for Mac and you are running OSX 10.8 Mountain Lion you have to down load software and firmware from HP web site not from disk.Through Mac Airplay the Wireless Scanning and print to document feature works well with no lag. In short no problems as of yet,Iam glad i bought it.

> 3 dayThis printer was immediately recognized once I set it up on our WiFi network. A number of people have stated that the printer connection would get lost. Randomly this was happening with our iPad 2, one day it worked great and the next the printer would not show up. When you have a network you can type in a devices IP address (i.e.. 192.168.0.8) into your internet browsers URL field and manage it from there. I bookmark all my devices this way for quick access to them from my Macs. I noticed the Envy was loosing its IP address and it kept changing. The only was to get it to appear again was to restart the printer and hard reboot the iPad. After the 3 time in a couple of months I decided to solve this problem. I went ahead and assigned the Envy a static IP address and the problem has not returned. It works flawlessly now from our iPad 2, (iOS 5.1) two iPhone 4 (iOS 5.1), MacBook (10.7.4) and G4 tower (10.5.8). We have a CenturyLink DSL modem and Apple Airport Extreme. The printer prints VERY fast in b&w draft mode, 2-sided and the quality in this mode is surprisingly great!

> 3 dayI love this printer. I will order another one when this one wears out. If you need speed or print a lot, you may like this to upgrade to a more office heavy duty HP printer (which we do own and like). This printer does a great job of printing pictures also.

22-11-2024I LOVE this printer. My goal was to be completely wireless and this sleek ultra stylish printer fulfills that goal AND is also very functional. It is GREAT to print from my phone, computer and iPad from anywhere in my home! I also love the ability I now have to email print jobs from anywhere in the world to my printer. I wouldve given it five stars except the paper tray only holds about 50 slices at a time. If you want a sleek, stylish, functional quality printer that takes up as little room as a DVD player then this printer is probably for you.
