I finally bit the bullet and bought several of these. I looked at making them myself; however, by the time I were to buy the good climbing ropes and carabiners, it would have pretty much cost me what I paid for these anyway. They were easy to put up. HSS states these will accommodate a 30 tree stand; which they will, youll just need to tie the bottom of the rope off at about shoulder height. It took me just a moment to work on going up and down the tree with the Prusik knot. It did not seem to take any longer to ascend or descend from my stand. If anything, the time is made up by not having to break out a tree strap to hook the harness into once Im up. Update: I am very happy w/the price of these. I paid $24.99 each through Amazon. Yesterday, I saw they are $39.99 each at Academy Sports. Update Again: These things are reflective. You wont have any trouble finding your stand in the dark with these life-lines. Last Update: Glad I bought 4 of these at once, because with Amazons rolling prices they went from $24.99 to $29.98 right after I bought them.

All outfitters should have these in every one of their stands (ladder or lock on). Would give their clients much more confidence when climbing into stands they have never been in before etc... This ultimately can double as the lifeline and as your tie in when the stand never having to be disconnected from a line.

This thing is amazing with the new reflector and the rubber cowbell is awesome for ladder or stick climbers

A must for all who hunt from loc-on stands. This product allows 100% tie-off and protects you from the ground to your stand and back down. Great product and cost is reasonable when compared to making them from climbing rope.
