Best aquarium cleaning tool I’ve purchased. The blade works well, and trust what they say about not letting the magnets touch without something between them. You will not pull them apart. Not even twisting. I had to use a knife lengthwise just to get separation enough to twist apart. It’s scary strong. And that’s what assures the blade makes good contact.

Like other reviewers, I had never heard of Hygger or seen them in any of my local fish stores, but the solid review made me hopeful. Let me just be clear: this product is FANTASTIC for a glass tank. My 30gal tank was in rough shape - green algae, hard water residue and worst of all, red slime algae (cyanobacteria) taking over my glass. The two scrapers I had before (one with a soft scraper, one with a hard scraper - kinda feels like velcro?) couldnt put a meaningful dent in it. The exterior handle on this product is comfortable, and it covers a decently large area so youre not cleaning like 2 inches at a time. The magnetic grip is super strong but not impossible to separate like some people warned. You just twist one side 90 degrees and it slips off. But this also means its not falling off in the tank. Even if it does, the scraper side FLOATS! My last scraper would sink into the substrate and then you have to clean it thoroughly so youre not accidentally scratching the glass with tiny bits of substrate. Not a problem here. The scraper itself did a pretty good job breaking up the newer algae growths and hard water residue. It wasnt quite tough enough to break up the red slime algae, but clicking on the razor blade attachment was very simple and I didnt even get my fingers anywhere near the blade. The blade made relatively quick work of the rest of the algae and the combo of blade and scraper made cleaning a breeze. Finally, my tank is back to a clear quality and I can enjoy my pets again in all their glory. Taking the razor off to store was also very easy and once again - did not run into any issues in terms of nicking fingers. Only thing I can think of is that if you have an acrylic tank you might have an issue because its so effective? A bow front might be a challenge too, not sure as Ive never owned one. But for a rectangular glass tank, this is perfect. Definitely worth the price.

I have to say that I really love this thing. I had several years trying to get the solution for the algae in my aquariums. This product really is amazing. It was very easy to assemble it. The instructions were clear. I am very glad that this product had both blades (for acrylic and glass tanks). I bought the small size and even for my big tank it was ok. At the beginning I was skeptical. In few minutes I have had finishing the aquarium that I selected for cleaning. It was amazing!! I really recommend this product

For the $, very good magnetic power and scraping power. Have had for 2-3 months and the scraper obviously dulls over time (not unlike the more expensive ones) so overall good so far!

This effect is not very good, it is easy to loosen and the brush is not clean enough The price is a bit expensive, I dont think its worth it, and the style is not good-looking, mainly because it is difficult to use

This thing has SERIOUS magnets. No hyperbole, if you attach the two halves outside the tank its genuinely a struggle to separate them, and this translates to very powerful scrubbing in the tank. Youll give your hands a workout using this thing. The very strong bristles cut through algae Ive had to use a razor blade to remove in the past, and the metal scraping attachment is great for corners, edges, and super caked on gunk. Buy this and save yourself the hassle of using a traditional handled scraper, you will NOT regret it.

Firstly, I never used the scraping attachment, i prefer to do that manually, so I cant speak on how good that part is. That said the magnetic scrubber itself is pretty strong. I ended up getting the bigger one and had to swap it for the lesser because it was TOO strong. Not gonna lie, I only got this specific scrub becuase of the dark wood aesthetic, its not real wood but it looks pretty good. It scrubs green algea and diatoms clean, cant really ask too much more from a scrubber.

Was going to buy one of the wood algae eater wood scrapers when I stumbled upon this one. This isnt real wood, but it actually matches my stand better color wise, and the shape of this one is actually easier and nicer to hold. The magnets are super strong (dont let them stick together!) so the scraper slides smoothly inside my tank with no jumping at all. I have a 180 gallon tank with 1/2 inch glass. This will be replacing my Flipper scraper which would jump/jerk and constantly separate before floating away into my rock work. This wont have the same issue with these magnets and it floats on top of the water for easy retrieval.

I recommend this if you have a fish tank it will make ur life easier, you will thank me later!

Ive had several of these, and this is by far the best one. Its a very strong magnetic cleaner and scrubs the glass as it moves along. Well worth the money, and nice enough looking to leave in the tank somewhere for quick convenient cleaning. This definitely helps manage any algae growth on the glass of planted tanks and tanks requiring a lot of lighting, even tanks that receive a significant amount of natural sunlight. Hygger is one of my favorite brands! Hygger products have proven to be trustworthy and nicely made (even when something I ordered didnt quite work for my specific needs). Each item from this brand is so beautifully packed that if this is ordered as a gift, it will arrive looking like one. Love this brand, and this particular item exceeded my expectations.
