> 3 dayI just opened it and used it for the first time to scrape coralline algae from my tank glass. It worked well and even got into the corners. I subtracted one star because I think putting the scraper head on is a bit dangerous. Definitely worth the money and savings over the big name brand.

> 3 dayI seldom write review for items that I bought. This is an exception. I am extremely pleased with this algae magnet that I bought. It is very easy to use and also get rid of the algae in hard to reach area, ie. the bottom edge. I have a 100 gallon tank and it took me less than 5 minutes to do the cleaning.

> 3 dayFirstly, I never used the scraping attachment, i prefer to do that manually, so I cant speak on how good that part is. That said the magnetic scrubber itself is pretty strong. I ended up getting the bigger one and had to swap it for the lesser because it was TOO strong. Not gonna lie, I only got this specific scrub becuase of the dark wood aesthetic, its not real wood but it looks pretty good. It scrubs green algea and diatoms clean, cant really ask too much more from a scrubber.

Greater than one weekI am a 300 lb power lifter that loves the aquarium hobby. These algae cleaners are absolutely awesome. Cleaned a 55 gallon tank with a bad algae problem in about 3 minutes, without the blades. I would HIGHLY RECOMMEND being careful not to put the two pieces within 4 or 5 inches of each other outside of a fish tank. The magnets are so powerful, that when I accidentally did so, they snapped together with so much force that I bruised my left small finger. Then I had to pry them apart with a screwdriver! I could literally win some money betting my powerlifting friends that they can’t separate the two sides (without a screwdriver or other tool), once the magnets connect. With a piece of glass between them they are perfect. I would recommend sliding the outside magnetic piece on the glass towards the inner piece to minimize the force of the connection. When you are done, simply turn one of the pieces in a circular motion while holding the other, to break the “seal”. Buy these, they are great.

> 3 dayPoor design, including a weird translation to English in the instructions. This is common in many of the products manufacturered in China that Ive used. Though the razor that comes with the unit is as dull as dishwater, the instructions try to establish it as near deadly. In my opinion that time would have been better spent making mounting the blade easier. The blade mounting would have been MUCH better if it had been a single peice instead of THREE. Id very much like to see products that have more diversity in the places they were manufactured. Please Mr. Bezos, show some loyalty to the country that gave you your start.

Greater than one weekThis magnet is just as good as the ones Ive used that cost double the price. Fantastic buy. And looks much nicer than the expensive ones too! Very happy! Definitely would rebuy.

Greater than one weekProbably one of the best scrapers that Ive used so far. The magnet is really strong and i have no issues with it separating on my rimless tank, which is 8 mil thick. The 2 different blade attachments are a nice touch: one is plastic and the other metal. I used the plastic blade and it easily removed the algae after a pass. Does not feel cheap in any way. My one and only complaint: the bottom of each half is essentially similar to velcro tape. The half that stays on the outside of the tank has a pretty high pile. If you store the scraper (I dont like leaving it in the tank) by putting the 2 pieces together, you may have a hell of a time prying them apart when its time to clean. The velcro essentially latches on. Add the fact that the magnet is strong and youll have to apply quite a bit of force to separate both the magnets and the velcro at the same time. I needed a butter knife to pull them apart and pry the pieces loose. So spare the cursing and just put something like a paper towel in between for storage. Overall great product. Highly recommend.
