Infant Optics DXR-8 PRO Add-on Camera (Not Compatible with DXR-8), White

Pros-great picture (unless you zoom in, then it becomes grainy), reads temp in room accurately, good sound output when talking through camera. Overall happy with purchase. Cons-doesn’t come with wide angle lens (trust me, you need it-it provides a WAY better view and you don’t have to position the camera perfectly to see your baby) - you can buy it separately but shouldn’t have to. Can pair multiple cameras with one monitor (the monitors battery life isn’t stellar but I don’t need it to be right now) but cannot pair a camera to multiple monitors and it’d be nice to have one up and downstairs since my hands are usually full of tiny humans and their belongings when I come downstairs or I simply forget it.

The image from the PRO model camera is SO much clearer than the original infant optix camera we bought 3 years ago. So glad we upgraded for baby number 2! Still love that this doesn’t require a wife connection.

I finally have time to write this review. We purchased one of these back in 2016 with birth of our 1st son and absolutely loved it. Even wrote a great review about. Now with the birth of our 2nd child, we immediately went to purchase the same thing again. But weve been having nothing but trouble w/ the power supply. They changed the power supply, which has proven to be a lower quality item (in spite of them advertising it as an improvement), and as I tried to get support (I didnt have much time as I expressed to the support reps that my child was born w/ a congenital heart issue and we were buried w/ medical appointments), the level of push-back I received from their support was ridiculous (including not even being able to address their emails to the correct person). After many emails of them making ME troubleshoot THEIR PRODUCT, they finally sent me a replacement, with a bunch of hurdles for me to jump through. Great! I receive the new product. Time to move on? NOPE! Now the new product makes a loud humming noise. I again reached out to their support and again, THEY WANTED ME TO START TROUBLESHOOTING IT AGAIN!!!! At this point, I became beyond furious and told the rep to just not contact me anymore. Im beyond this company. From my experience, they felt the need to fix something that wasnt broken. And their support team is anything but supportive. I would not recommend this product nor this company.

But the ad on camera after we had her second child as our oldest is still young enough, that he requires monitoring. It was super easy to connect to our previous monitor easy to toggle back-and-forth between the two cameras. I leave the monitor plugged in most of the time, but otherwise battery life is most of the day

I did a lot of research when selecting a baby monitor. This was a great camera until the night vision started to die on us after only 2 years. My husband read some reviews and it seems to be a common issue that the night vision stops working. The green light that assists with night vision becomes really dim. We have only had this camera 2 years. We just had our 2nd baby and got a camera for their room and there is a noticeable difference between the new one and old camera when using them at night. We will no longer recommend this camera to others.

Upgraded our old Infant Optics to the pro version when one of the cameras went dead after a few years of use. Wow! The image on the pro is crystal clear, even in night mode. What an upgrade! The noise reduction has also been helpful with the kids white noise machine. Glad we upgraded!

Great product. Very reliable and excellent picture and sound. A must have and a go to.

We’ve gone thru a couple monitors over the years and this one is by far the best!! The picture quality is amazing! Plus LOVE the ANR with the pro! Highly recommend!

We had the previous mode for our first born and the picture quality on this model is WAY better. We now link the cameras in both of our children’s rooms so we only have to have one receiver. It also has a longer range which is nice on our property.

This camera is an UPGRADE from the older version. I use both versions, one in each house and love the independence I have gained from having my kiddos on the monitors!
