Fit perfectly. Anybody who has a disposal that leaks from the top like I did probably just has a bad seal. Use extra care with the seal to get it centered properly, tighten carefully (like when mounting a tire on the car, tighten each bolt just a bit, rotating around to gradually tighten).

I guess I cant complain. Only came with 2 parts as I purchase it use.

Ive installed several disposals using this type of attachment and I do it one-handed (I am missing an arm). A simple trick that takes all the muscle out of the installation - use a car jack. I just put the disposal on top of the floor jack I have for my car, jack it up until the disposal is in place, twist the lock ring, and lower the jack. All done in maybe five minutes.

it came with the new disposal and did not need it

This item does not come with a plug. We discovered this after installing. Now its an added expense. Maybe thats why. Can it be explained?
