> 3 dayI got this as a gift for my girlfriend and she is hooked on it. Shes taken French in school and was brushing up on her fluency. Needless to say, shes hooked. Cant get her away from it. Plays for hours at a time. I also have Spanish and Chinese and find them to be extremely helpful and useful in learning the languages. Pennies on the dollar compared to Rosetta Stone and just as good.

> 3 dayI got this software as a gift about a month ago, and let me tell you, it was one of the best gifts Ive ever recieved! The thing that most people forget is that this is not Rosetta Stone. Its called Immersion for a reason. One of the best ways for an adult to learn a language is to be surrounded by it, i.e. immersed. For me, I found the software very easy to use. I especially like the fact that I can put some lessons on my Ipod and take them with me when I go to the gym. Definitely makes working out less monotonous! I also like the DVD game. Its very fun, and my little brother even likes playing it too. So, if youre wanting to learn any language, Instant Immersion is definitely worth every penny.

> 3 dayThere is obviously nothing better than actuall in-country immersion for learning a language. This package, however, is the next best thing. Clear and easy to understand (and navigate), I find Topics language learning software ideal and recommend it to my students.

> 3 dayI bought this disk for my children as they all wanted to learn french. They love playing the games and WANT to get on and learn. I have to say that I have even started to play the games because they are entertaining and interactive. THis program is good for vocabulary and learning basic phrases but if you need a program to learn to speak and understand french today (because of a trip or business)this may not be the best program for you. It is working great for my kids as an exposure to the sounds and some basic vocab. Compared to Rosetta Stone (which I purchased several years ago in Spanish) it is much more entertaining and fun to use, easy to install and set up, and I can track my students progress very easily (in Rosetta even after following the instructions it never tracked my kids progress properly. Worth the 25-30 dollars.

> 3 dayShould have read the fine print as this product does not function properly with Windows 7. Partway through Level 2, the PC reported problematically huge memory use (my PC has 9 GB RAM)! While playing and recording my pronunciation, the machine repeatedly stopped functioning rendering the program useless beyond that point. Each disc is a separate program to be installed and that disc must be inserted to run the program. Very old fashioned style graphics and interface. Learned some vocabulary but thats about it. It may play better on a Windows XP machine.

> 3 dayI have used Rosetta Stone and this product. I agree that neither are quite what they promise, which is an EASY way to learn a language. For someone to compare this favorably to RS is highly suspicious to me. After multiple failed attempts to get this product to work on my Mac, I went to a PC laptop to actually check it out. This product compares to Rosetta Stone in the way that a fast food hamburger compares to a well-prepared steak. This is really nothing more than a mildly-interactive vocabulary list. Perhaps thats worth the money, but dont confuse it with the advanced learning procedures from Rosetta Stone. My problem with RS is that they do not show you enough direct translation vocabulary. So in that sense, this would be a nice complement to RS. The audio CDs included in this are actual lessons, thus not really helpful for drilling and memorizing. Its really not comparable to RS at all, and any comparison is incredibly unfair. They should take those claims off of their packaging. Ill be demanding a refund for the Mac incompatibility, but otherwise would make use of the money back guarantee. Save yourself the hassle.
