Nothing unexpected. Great performance years after release. Can get a bit warm after overclocking. Only downside is the core count (more cpus are adding similar or higher amount of cores for same or lower price). Great clock speed. Locked at 5.1 ghz for years with 34-40 C idle temp. Bought mainly for gaming so as mentioned, more options are available now for productivity.

The best chip for gaming. I was lucky since this is my first build meaning I needed a new mobo anyways. To those of you that dont know, to utilize this chip, you must purchase a newer Intel Coffee Lake compatible mobo. Buyer beware.

With a nice $100 Noctua air cooler you can destroy all your friends in benchmarks. Probably the best cpu next to the i9-9900k that you can buy. I can stream at higher quality than all my friends and get a little higher fps than most of them. Its fantastic. Best cpu I have had in my 20 years of gaming. COOLING IS KEY IF YOU DONT BUY A REALLY NICE AIR COOLER DONT EVEN BUY THIS. I was able to overclock mine to 4.7 without even touching voltage.

I had an older intell i5 gen 3, and it was bottlenecking my 1080ti so I upgraded to this. Holy COW what a major difference this, gameplay is so much smoother now.
