Overkill for gaming but who only uses their computer for gaming? Really fast especially if youre using a decent mb and ram.

I installed a large air cooler with 3 fans in large desktop with 5 fans and good airflow. but it is not enough for the recently released i912900KF. it still overheats and reaches 90c-96c degrees within 7-10 minutes of rendering when its 90% workload.

I built a new computer for photography work and it is amazingly snappy and quick. This chip on an Asus Strix Z690-e motherboard, Asus TUF 3090TI, 64GB DDR5 6400 memory, Samsung 980 pro, NZXT Kraken Z73 all work famously together to keep the system fast and cool.

I usually buy every gen just play and most generates the improvement is marginal. This 12th gen is impressive. Makes the older gens not worth it unless they can be had for about half of what retail price is. 12th gen price to performance is incredible.

Easy to setup, Runs fast, some bioss you have to enable the last turbo level manually instead of auto if you want to see 5.2ghz. You need to go water cooling or get an EK Elite 360 D-RGB and some IC Diamond 24TIM if you want this cpu to run cooler and not have the temps go out of control on you. Any other AIO is not up to it, no matter how much it cost. It can ran 4x16 3600 CL18 Corsair Vengeance RGB-Pro 3600 CL18 no issues, or Run 2x16 G.Skill Trident Royal Z 4000mhz CL16 B-Die no issues if you are on a Z690 DDR4 board. I would not go past 4400mhz DDR4 on a kit if you want it to run at stock/advertised speeds. But yeah, take my advice on cooling or say hello to 90-100c temps on the core.

Im coming from a 3930k CPU that has performed its duty for many years in my custom build. So when I say this 12900kf zoom zoom zoooooomms, I mean it... Im running it with the NVIDIA RTX 3090 GPU and 64gb DDR5 4400 RAM. Well worth the money if you are into graphic design and video production using adobe software. I also do music production using Presonus Studio One 5.4 and up with Waves, izotope, and many other VTS and VSTi plugins. I cant say enough it simply makes my life easier and Im glad I got it!
