Our Wii was not being used since our TV system did not have a composite video connection. We were missing some of our old favorite games and this adapter has allowed the mariokarts to race again!! Setup is simple - plug in and go! Can improve video performance by going into Wii setting and selecting 480p instead of 480i Note the Wii is limited in video resolution so no adapter is going to turn Mario into a 4K HDR 120Hz player on the Wii - but video picture quality is fine. The adapter does have an audio out port beside the HDMI but I didnt use it - the audio worked perfectly over the HDMI cable. Recommended for simple Wii setup to HDMI video or receiver systems.

My family still loves playing Wii, especially Mario Kart. I had upgraded years ago from a composite cable (where all video is handled on one cable, usually yellow, and there are red and white cables for audio) to a component cable (where red green and blue are all on separate cables, plus the two audio cables). This allows the Wii to output 480p, instead of 480i, for a slightly more stable, vivid picture. I wanted to upgrade to a new TV, and many don’t have component inputs any longer. Decided to give this adapter a shot. Plugs right into the Wii, and an HDMI cable is INCLUDED, unlike many of these from other brands. Picture quality did not suffer at all. Audio is carried over the HDMI as you’d expect, you only need the optional jack if you want to pump audio directly to a stereo system for example. Nice product and a great price!

these devices are a must have for anyone trying to use a Wii on a modern TV. the picture quality is noticeably sharper and the colors are worlds better, richer and fuller. the audio works as well. cant go wrong with one of these and for the price, it just cant be beat. heck this one even comes with its own hdmi cable!

Back when the Wii was released in 2006, Nintendo had chosen to focus on motion controls as their new innovation and were the only console of the generation to stick with SD graphics. While it may have been a smart decision at the time, the ongoing developments in TV technology are starting to leave older devices out. HDMI is the norm now and many HDTVs dont even have the proper inputs to connect to pre-HD devices. This device replaces the RCA connection on the Wii for HDMI. The box includes the HDMI adapter as well as an HDMI cable. Im happy to report its simple and it works. You simply attach the adapter to the Wii, connect the HDMI cable, and you can jump right back into Wii Bowling. I found that it outputs at 480p @ 60Hz on my television (in one of the pictures my TV shows a notification at the bottom of what resolution is being displayed). This might disappoint some people hoping for an upscaled resolution. Make sure to adjust your Wiis picture settings for the best image quality. Overall, this is a very affordable and solid solution for anyone who is looking to play their Wii on a modern televsion.

Exactly what I needed, great little adapter that lets me play my beloved WII in a world where RCA jacks are harder and harder to find on the back of a TV. Great little unit that works as expected.

When I ordered this device, I was very hopeful that it would work because I have a Wii game console that my grandkids would like to use but I had no way of connecting the game console to my new TV. My Wii video connection to the TV requires RGB connections but my new TV does not have RGB ports. I was NOT disappointed with the device. It connected just fine to the TV/Wii and now we can use the game console with the grandkids and giving new life to the Wii games that were just collecting dust and marked for the landfill.

The IQIKU HDMI Adapter for Wii helps fulfill an important need for people with TVs/monitors without composite or component inputs. This is especially helpful for people with 4K monitors since many only have HDMI inputs. Colors are vibrant and the picture is relatively sharp, though not as sharp as most component-to-HDMI adapters (though those can run significantly higher, with some solutions up in the hundreds). I havent noticed any tearing or excessive artifacting in the 4-5 games I have played through the adapter so far. Audio through the HDMI is clean and sounds great on my Vizio soundbar. It does come with one major caveat, however. Unlike a component connection, which can output in widescreen, the IQIKU HDMI Adapter can only output in 4:3, so you need to be okay with pillarboxing on the left and right of the screen. For me, its a fair trade to be able to play these great games again, but I realize it may be a less acceptable option for others. If that should be the case for you, you are probably best looking for a used Wii-U since it is backward compatible with Wii games and can output natively in HDMI with a very clean sharp 16:9 image. For the rest of this, this is an affordable compromise.

Easy to use and works well. Just plug it in and set Wii to 480p.
