I ordered 2 bags of pine bedding. The first one I opened to use seemed moist, but I still went ahead and used it. I just opened the second bag to use it, but some of the pine bedding had turned black with mold and other places in the bag was growing white stuff. It must have been moist as well, but I didnt notice it when it arrived since I only opened one bag. I have never had this problem with pine bedding purchased in a store. I had to throw out the entire bag of pine bedding.

This pine bedding is wonderful for doggie litter boxes. I just got a new puppy that came to me litter trained. I have never heard dogs being litter trained and using pine shavings for litter. I never believed a dog would use a litter box. Well, apparently, puppies are drawn to this stuff. I buy this by the largest bag I can find. It is very absorbent and has a nice fresh pine smell. It does fly a bit if you knock it over. I change the areas that he urinates/defecates on and just replace it with fresh shavings. It is very soft. There may be a few larger pine pieces here and there but not that many. I tried a different brand once and found that this brand is way superior and until I get him trained to go outside, this will be the only pine shavings I will buy.

This is definitely an item that i will buy again. The price is very good. I will buy again. My kids have two hamsters and for the price and the hamsters love this bedding.
