KKSB Raspberry Pi 4 Case | CNC Machined Aluminum Raspberry Pi Enclosure with Built-in Heatsink

This hard metal case is beautifully made. Whether it is aluminum or aluminium depends on your opinion, but either way, it is very nearly a perfect work of metallurgy. Swapping out from my CanaKit case to this metal one was easy, except for getting the CanaKit heat sink off the RPi-4 processor so that I could install the little foam thermal pad. That done, reassembly and re-installation back to my LAN took no time and little effort. I really like the two screw hole hangers in the bottom and expect to use them, eventually... when I finally get around to re-organizing. This is a high-quality piece of equipment and will be quickly forgotten, as are all things that do not require fixing, polishing, dusting, batteries, or any other annoyance.

Its definitely an aluminum case that came with everything in a nice and tidy box I havent had an opportunity to get my hands on a Pi yet, but I am more than excited to try out this product and figure out if there are any issues or concerns. One thing to note is that small parts and pieces inside the box can easily be lost or eaten by a dog if youre not careful when opening the amazon packaging. Also, this came as a solo package in a nondescript box if thats a concern of yours. Ill update this as I use the product in the future.

This is a nicely made case. It comes with screws and adhesive so that you can mount it somewhere (like if youre making a Kodi media server or a RetroPie). I dont have a Raspberry Pi 4 yet (hard to find at a reason price), so I cant speak for how it fits. However, I can say that the case looks sleek and attractive. I look forward to using it when I do get an RPi 4. The bottom panel appears to fit well, and little screw holes are milled so that you can mount it to a wall with two screws if you want. I recommend this case. Pretty good for the price. Only complaint is the sharp edge where the SD card goes. It should be rounded off- fingers go there.

The Raspberry Pi 4 case reviewed is a beautifully machined aluminum enclosure that offers immaculate finish with no visible tool marks. The case features two small plastic light pipes to ensure visibility of status LEDs and has been designed with slots for both the DSI display ribbon cable and access to the GPIO header. The case provides access to the SD card without protruding from the case. The case is designed to provide thermal dissipation through the use of a solid block that is part of the overall case, this block uses a included squishy thermal pad for optimal performance. The case has two keyhole slots on the bottom for wall mounting, but the screws might not be flush and might expose the RPi board with very little clearance which can cause risk of damaging the RPi. However, the case may act as RF shield which reduces the range and sensitivity of both Wi-Fi and Bluetooth, so if wireless connectivity is important the plastic case might be a better option. The screws on the base are not countersunk and can stick out underneath, though a set of small rubber feet are included. The case allows to run ribbon cables for camera and display outputs, has a good heat dissipation and overall looks modern and sleek.

Really happy with this case overall. The fit and finish here, is great. It works as designed for the raspberry pi 4. Im using this in my vehicle, and I wanted to make sure Id have a solid case for lugging my raspberry pi around.

After using so many 3D-printed and cheap plastic Pi cases over the years, I was very happy to get my hands on this case. Its all metal, and the thickness of that metal is substantial. Its thicker than the armor case for my trailcam! The holes and air vents are truly laser-precise. Fit is perfect. They provide four tiny screws to hold it together, feet, and 3M tape. Also there are keyholes ready to go in the bottom plate. Now I have to figure out how to pipe my chip heat out to this case. If the manufacturer were to include an engineered heatsink solution, they would have the best pi case on the market!

Raspberry PI cases all function in basically the same way, but this case is design to last. With all-metal construction, there is no chance for misalignment or shrinkage of plastic parts. The metal housing helps greatly with heat generated by the RPI 4 CPU chip. Now, if I can only find a second RPI 4…

This thing is very good looking and is very well-made. It has the built-in heat sinks as it is aluminum the entire body becomes the heat sink and it fits the raspberry pi 4B perfectly. It comes with a thermal pads that you need to make contact with the built-in he thinks. And it comes with all the hardware and it has some extra mounting holes on the bottom which is a nice little design bonus. It also comes with a little foot pads that will keep it from sliding around. It doesn’t have heat sinks for the RAM so you might want to add those. They are very easy to make or an expensive to buy. The fit and finish are excellent as would befit a nice raspberry pi project box. It has a slightly unusual but zippier color then my other dark gray boxes and I kind of like it. At $20 this gives all the features and appearance of the $45 aluminum cases so I will buy these all day long.

This case is very well made and finished, the integral CPU heat sink appears to do the job quite well, although I have not been able to stress test the Pi and monitor the CPU temp with this passive cooling arrangement. I suspect it will be at least as good as any other offering other than copper based heat sinks. Fit and form are good, personally I would have liked to see the USB and Network ports more flush with the case, but that is purely aesthetics. I like the feature on the base that facilitates wall mounting using a couple of screws but: Be very aware that the screws could short the Pi board to the case unless you insulate that area!! (See photo). Nice case, especially for (with care) wall mounting.

Ive been playing with the Raspberry Pi devices going back more than 10 years to the original Raspberry Pi B, and I have to say that Ive not seen a more attractive case. Here are a few points I wanted to call attention to: • The machined finish is immaculate, with no tooling marks visible • They include two small plastic light pipes to ensure you can see the status LEDs through the case • Slots have been machined for both the DSI display ribbon cable (if youre using that connection) and on the underside for access to the GPIO header • Access to the SD card is retained without protruding from the case • The case uses a solid block that is part of the overall case for heat transfer - but only if you use the included squishy thermal pad. While Ive not stressed the RPi, thermal dissipation seemed more than adequate at normal room temperature. • There are two keyhole slots on the bottom of the case that should function for wall mounting, with two potential issues. First, the case assembly screws stand off the bottom of the case by 1.5-2.0mm so its not a flush mount. Second, the keyhole slots directly expose to the RPi board with very little clearance, providing a risk of damaging your RPi when mounting it. Overall, this is a great-looking case that checks a lot of boxes for me.
