> 3 dayBest ereader Ive ever seen or owned. Backlit screen is perfect in the dark and the eink screen is perfectly visible in light as well. Can load ePubs directly via Windows file explorer. Highly recommend this reader.

> 3 dayThe main reason to buy the Kobo Aura is its versatility, since it functions w/both .epub and .mobi file formats (for some reason Amazon still refuses to incorporate .epub support for Kindle). Unfortunately, it is definitely slower than Kindle paperwhite, and the screen isnt as responsive (swiping down ends up as a click in 1/2 of the time). In addition, shopping for books is harder as the Kobo store pretty much sucks. If youre okay with these 2 shortcomings, this is the basic e-reader to get if you already have dozens of .epubs you cant read on your Kindle. (I say this having owned a Nook glowlight which was cheaply made and had a terrible UI).

> 3 dayFor Russian readers I would definitely advise it, Cyrillic letters are supported very well, though the language of system is not having Russian on its list. But as far as I can read Russian books clearly, that makes me more than happy. Besides, I am in love with its design, the reader is very thin, light, even though the size of the screen was not as I expected, however, it didnt disappoint me at all. Very fast working, easy in use. Everything delivered in a good condition (both reader and cable).

> 3 dayI bought the Kobo Aura One about 1.5 to 2 years ago. In that time, I have only used it in its normal capacity and, just shortly outside of the warranty period, the device no longer works. As far as I know there is no straightforward way to fix or repair a malfunctioning device if the issue is a hardware problem. Things Ive had problems with in that time that make me feel this isnt a worthwhile purchase just yet: 1) the interface with a windows computer - theoretically youre supposed to be able to plug in your device and load books directly onto it from the kobo app or your desktop. I was able to directly load data onto my kobo only once before that function stopped working altogether. Ive tried so many things to fix it - different computers, different cables, resetting my device manager settings, etc and I havent had any luck with it. After googling the issue, I saw that this is a pretty common complaint that there doesnt seem to be much resolution for yet. For this reason, I would not recommend this device until they can make it seamlessly connect to windows interfaces. (If you have this problem, you *can* go around it using a calibre server and manually downloading books one by one to your device... but its so incredibly inefficient that in my opinion its basically not an option.) 2) The interface *within* the device is similarly abysmal. In order to search for books in the library, for example, you have to go into the store section, search for a title, and *then* change your search to show results from your library and not the kobo store. Hardly intuitive. Saving articles to your device using pocket seems convenient until you realize that you cant interact with those articles in any meaningful way - in other words, you cant highlight anything or make notes the way you can with an audiobook, which seems like a major oversight. If you need to sideload books using the internet, you have to go into beta features just to find the web browser. And the web browser is, of course, pretty awful. You have to load many pages in html in order for things to not progress at glacial speeds. Then, we should talk about the fact that when the device powers down into sleep mode, the screen *retains* the title of the last book you were reading. Again, to my knowledge, there is no option to erase the title from your screen. So if youre uncomfortable with people reading the titles of your books (say, if youre reading something sensitive) then you have to purposely load other books before you shut down your device. This seems like just such ridiculously bad UX design that I cant wrap my head around it. Ereaders in general also suffer a lot from the fact that you cant write or draw on the screens and you cant see anything in color or play animations, sounds, and videos - but those are just accepted negatives that most people are aware of before getting into ereaders. Having said that, the lack of those features is still glaringly noticeable and is a big reason why the devices still arent a good replacement for simpler-to-use options like tablets. All in all, as a huge Star Trek fan I am very excited about the future of ereaders - but we still have a long long way to go before theyre worth the money that they cost. I think this device could improve drastically if they put more effort into the design and engineering side of things. Until then, I wouldnt recommend this purchase.

> 3 dayThis is the third eReader Ive ordered actually. The first was a Kobo Touch, which sadly suffered from a broken screen due to bad handling on my account. The second was a Kobo Aura h2o as a replacement, and this one is my third Kobo eReader to be used by my wife. Excellent products. Great quality screen, good build quality. Recommended.

> 3 dayThey will not ship it in a orderly time because they want you to purchase a Kindle so they can further lock you into staying on their platform, Ive noticed this for years. The Kobo readers always show ship in 3-4 weeks or theyre unavailable. Either order it from Rakuten or Walmart. Kobo doesnt restrict you to just using PDFs and MOBI files, you can actually use the following Books: EPUB, EPUB3, PDF, and MOBI, and PDF. It supports CBZ and CBR if you read comics. They also allow for expansion storage, which no Kindle does.
