> 3 dayFor decades I truly didnt think I would take to an e-reader. I liked the look and feel of physical books so much! I finally decided to take a chance and give the Kobo Clara 2e a try a few months ago and am surprised how much I love it - and how much MORE I am reading now. Its slim, lightweight, has amazing battery life (lasts for a couple of weeks on a charge generally), and the screen is responsive and enjoyable to read from. I am a huge fan of the varied options for brightness and the ability to change the warmth of the screen. I also LOVE that this has dark mode - unless its a really bright day and I have it outside, I often prefer reading in dark mode as I find it easier to read. Its great for use in different positions and is far easier than trying to juggle a flashlight and page-turning of a regular book if you want to read in bed at night without disturbing your spouse. Its also nice for trying to break the habit of wasting time on social media - Ive been trying to reach for this and read a few pages here and there rather than scrolling on Instagram on my phone.

> 3 dayIve been using this for two months. its my fifth e-reader (three kindles, and this is my second Kobo) and Im very happy with it. Its fast, the screen is great (300DPI, same as my previous reader). I havent tested the waterproof feature yet (and dont intend to!).

Greater than one weekVery disappointed with this useless device. I got this to read library books and since it has Overdrive already built in I expected it to be easy. Firstly, setup was so frustrating because the virtual keyboard threw up extra characters no matter how carefully I tried to type. It took me six tries to get it connected to my wifi. Then about 10 tries to get to my library books. Then it only showed a partial listing. I could not see any of my wish lists or manage my holds. The Kobo desktop program which they stated could be used to manage the device really was nothing more than an attempt to sell you books from their store. It’s going back and I will avoid Kobo in the future.

Greater than one weekThis device came highly recommended and worked great once I got signed in. I had a wonderful evening of reading, put it up for the night and went to read at lunch and it got stuck power cycling. I made sure it was charged, and still continuously just totems off and on. So disappointed, Ill be returning it.

20-11-2024The biggest advantage of this device for me is the agnostic file format support. I specifically got this e reader because it supports DRM free formats like epub, and it did not disappoint. Not only is it super easy to transfer epubs from a computer (with or without calibre), but it also has a built in web browser so you can download books directly from a server. Other Pros: - USB C charging is great - adjustable light temperature w/ auto adjustment based on time of day - no ads on the Home Screen! - built in overdrive support - supports dark mode - battery life well exceeds 1 month Cons - no black color option, only dark blue So much happier with this over a Kindle, and I don’t have to worry about Amazon selling my library and reading data or getting bombarded with ads when all I want to do is read my books.

Greater than one weekI did a lot of research on e-readers as I was upgrading from my very old kindle Paperwhite from 2013 (it was the 2nd gen PW) I absolutely loved my kindle I thought the size was perfect and was looking for something similar. I had to try out out the new Kindle Paperwhite as that was the kobo Clara 2es counterpart both with very similar features. I ultimately decided to go with the KC2E. Clarity and contrast is very important to me. And while the Kindle was absolutely stunning with the flush front I found it to be too big for what I was looking for and the words were not as sharp when compared to the KC2E. Im not a fan of the materials used for the Kobo, I dont feel like it matches its price, however other than that its a great device.
