I havent tested the shockproof qualities of this item (Im storing my dissertation on the WD Drive, no chances!!), but the item came just as advertised and fits the WD drive that it says it does perfectly.

I bought one of these to store my new passport 5tb drive to keep it safe during handling.

Actually the review should be 4 1/2 stars. I opened this case before opening the WD drive and thought I received the wrong item. It looked too small. Keeping my fingers crossed I opened drive and was relieved to see the packaging was a lot of protective material and the drive smaller. Its almost a perfect fit. Almost because its a very tight fit. I know you dont want a portable hard drive bouncing around in its case but a tad more room would have been nice. The case is pretty hard and I believe with the inner padding the drive will be well protected. There are two elastic bands within the drive compartment to prevent shifting and a mesh section to hold the USB cord. Not much room for anything else like a flash drive. I hope Ill never have to test the durability of the case but it looks like a small drop and all should be okay. One thing I hate about cases like this is the zipper as they always seem to jam. This zipper moves smoothly. All in all a pretty good purchase. Oh; the reason for the 4 1/2 stars? I feel it need to be just a bit bigger.
