> 3 dayMy 13 year old son, who has a height of 5 ft 6 in and weigh 105 lb, loves his Lascoota Scooter! This is his first set of wheels, besides the kiddie tricycle he had when he was 3 yrs old--which he only rode less than 10 times. He has been riding it ever since he got it on Tuesday, May 12, 2020. So its been four days thus far. I even rode it too and I love it! I noticed that the lowest height setting is great for both my son and I--Im 5 ft 8 in and 137 lb. The adult Lascoota Scooter is a great scooter for even taller people. The weight limit is 220 lbs though, so Im not sure if you can exceed that, as my son and I are both underweight, and we havent even tried to attempt to test the weight limit. Now, the downside--which wasnt really a problem for me, but I still need to point it out just in case someone else comes across this same issue: *Box: When I received the scooter, the amazon box was open halfway. The scooter box was slightly torn. However, there was no damage to the scooter itself, except for a white line streak on the griptape. *Overall, the scooter is sturdy and has a good weight to it. The handles feel great--a great grip. *Scooter Handles: Out the box, the handles did not go in at all! I had to use a slotted screwdriver, aka flat head screwdriver, to slightly open the handlebar holder after removing the clamp, and then insert the handles one by one, while still holding the holder open with the screwdriver. I then screwed the clamp back on. Though this occurred, I was never going to fold the scooter or remove the handlebars afterwards, so I was fine with this. It also reassures me that the handles will never pop out by accident. *Scooter Deck: Out the box, the scooter griptape on the deck was slightly peeled of towards the ends. This resolved itself later. I guess it had to do with the shipping or something, but now its not an issue. Overall, I give this scooter five stars, because even though it started out a bit rocky out the box, there was no issue afterwards and I love seeing my son outdoors with a huge smile on his face. Did I mention the awesome big wheels! Oh yeah, one more thing, my son wears a size 10 1/2 in US men and there is still a bit of space left when he places his whole foot on it. So about a size 11 1/2 max would be a comfortable fit. I am definitely getting myself one too!

12-06-2025The scooter appears to be very well made and is easy to assemble. Im sure my grandkids will put many miles on it! I contacted the LaScoota customer service on the other recent scooter I purchased and they went above and beyond. I am always happy to support companies like this that stand behind their products and value their customers!

Greater than one weekWhen you open the scooter and you see that metal plate that blocks the handle bars from being inserted - it’s a block to keep the handlebars out during shipment. Just remove it by pulling it straight out. If the scooter seems noisy, just remove the strap used to carry it. I replaced my bearings with REDS bearings to allow for further and faster travel. The scooter is lightweight, pretty sturdy, just gotta really tighten the bar to remove any shake from the equation. 4 stars because the wheels feel cheaper than expected and bearings were as good as Walmart. Expected for the price but definitely a good scooter for starters and casual ride and commute.

> 3 dayI was looking for a cheap, entry-level scooter to try out before I switched to a fancy one. I am 54 with a size 7.5 shoe, around 145 lbs, current vanity-size adjusted dress size 4. This one was cheaper than the Razor A5 and seemed to have a more loyal fanbase with similar features and quality. I was going to just buy it in silver, but ended up waiting. Im glad I did, because within a week or two, the black and red became available. I wanted the black and red so I could pair it with a black and red bike helmet. So, if they dont have the colors you want, for better or worse, you may be able to wait and see if they become available. Or you could ask. The ride itself is very bumpy. I do not recommend this product if you have bad knees. I do not have bad knees. After about four hours of riding around, my legs were a bit sore. But I stayed hydrated enough to not cramp. Another reviewer mentioned that its like doing a one-legged squat for quite some time. I was able to adjust my foot positioning over time to where I could put one put behind the other. There isnt enough room for my feet side-by-side, but at an angle, one can be behind the other. But while riding it, would naturally not put my foot behind the other unless riding downhill. So, yes, my leg did get a little sore from the one-legged. But it was totally worth it. And I was able to adjust easily enough between riding with my left side or right side facing forward, although I hear folks naturally have a dominant preference. I say adjust at stop lights or every quarter mile or so to prevent getting a cramp or something. I average about a mile in a little under ten minutes. If Im in a hurry, I can do a 7 or 8 minute mile. If Im in a hurry, it can be a workout where I get legit exercise flushed. I think its worth it if you live in BK like I do. Ive only tried it around Roosevelt Island to teach myself how to use it, so dont have experience using it in the city. I use it to get from one part of BK to another, which can take a long time. Its typically faster than taking the bus if there isnt a direct route, but the bus in BK I find is a lot less enjoyable than the city. So I also recommend this if you want to avoid taking the bus. I also read that the bicycle was revolutionary for female mobility because it enabled women to travel unchaperoned. Id agree with this. I wanted the ability to somewhat safely zip home on late weekends and feel like this has served that purpose well. Carrying it around the city is not bad at all. Its very light and portable. The strap is ok, but if you dont hold it just right, some hardware will jam into you and pinch you no matter what you do. It doesnt take up too much room on the subway, although I wouldnt bring it with me during rush hour. I have never used the kickstand. Folding it up has so far seemed to be a very delicate process. Unhooking everything is easy enough, but its never clear if you did a good enough job when you close the joints, the red button for folding takes just the right touch (havent gotten it down to a swift motion, and kind of dont think Ill be able to). For the handles, they are held together by a piece of elastic. It doesnt seem sturdy at all. The design flaw is that they pop out of the holders when folded up for carrying around. So youll be sitting or walking and find one flopping around and have to put it back in. Its not held in there well at all. Thankfully, they do not pop out when you have it set up for riding. The handlebars are good enough for my height and arm length. I am of average proportion. The scooter is very light in terms of weight and combined with handlebars that are just a tiny bit too short, I sometimes raise it off the ground when kicking. It doesnt result in any actual performance issue other than being a little startling to slam yourself back onto the ground. This is my first scooter ever, and Id never ridden a scooter before this. So, Im reviewing for it solving my problem, but Im pretty useless at comparing it to other scooters.

> 3 dayIll be honest, this is my second lascoota, the first one after 6 months of regular daily use snapped after hitting a crack of pavement hard enough to pothole. Its sturdy and useful in areas with smooth pavement. Obviously the scooters arent useful off-road or on terrible unmanaged roads. It folds thin and is easily stored without the $250 price tag that comes with folding bicycles.

> 3 dayI bought the red scooter for my son last summer and it was great for him. My daughters both needed a bigger scooter so I ended up purchasing two more since it was so nice. Definitely recommend this scooter.
