I purchased to take the old paint off of the railing along the back of my house. When you use it, you cant allow it to tip forward or the sand pours out of the front. It did take the paint off, but was so slow, in the end, I went back to my scraper.

The amount of time that this thing works can be measured in seconds, not minutes. It is perfect for removing paint and surface rust from a small amount of material, even with aggressive media. If you need to blast a large area, you need a different blaster

I tried it with baking soda and coal slag. Baking soda can be useful for a more delicate, less aggressive abrasion. On my test with coal slag, I was happy with the result. I used a rusty bolt for my test as shown in the pictures. I recommend using a high quality respirator and a face shield or hooded respirator as the particles tend to bounce off frequently to the face. What I liked about this sandblaster is that it can take different types of medium.
