> 3 dayI really liked the older Avatar sets and was excited to see them partnering with Lego to produce new sets. The kids love the taller figures as much as they do the normal sized ones. Theres a little redundancy in the two flying creatures (to be expected) but each still has its own charm and appeal once built. There are a number of new elements in this set that were only released this year, so that alone makes it a hot commodity. Any fan of the films will enjoy this set, and the kids will love swooshing around the house.

> 3 dayNOTE: The additionally pictured tan figurine and dragon (in the review photos) are not included in this set and are only present for comparison purposes. Clutch (5/5): LEGO is the gold standard for clutch, sometimes surpassed, but usually not equaled. This set has great clutch with the exception of the minifigure feet which I found didnt want to stay clutched to their mounts mounting. Instructions + Packaging (5/5): LEGO is again the gold standard for building brick instructions. The parts are divided up into sequentially numbered bags that can be opened as needed per the instruction steps being followed. With this set there were even three separate instruction booklets, one for each mount, and one for the base they can be displayed on. This is nice for sharing the set as multiple parts can be worked on simultaneously. I didnt run across any steps in the instructions that were items I worried would trip up kids. Quality Assurance (4.8/5) : None of the pieces were missing or malformed and some of the smaller pieces even had backups - as Ive come to expect with LEGOs quality measures. The foot clutch of the figurines is the one spot where I dont think LEGOs traditional standards were upheld. Utility (2/5): This for me is a measure of how well the pieces can be combined with pieces from other sets to unlock a broader experience in creative building. This sets color scheme is pretty distinct to the target franchise. There arent many pieces that are needed for more advanced building techniques. All in all, this set isnt one thats easily repurposed to combine with a broad set of other franchises and building techniques. Uniqueness (5/5): This for me is a measure of unique pieces that are difficult to acquire through other sets. The long legged figurines, the wings, the mount heads, the figurine tails and hair that the mount reins (for lack of thinking of a better word) can be attached to... this sets about as unique a LEGO set as I can think of. Creativity (3/5): With the exception of the floating land masses representation and franchise distinct flora and fauna I didnt see many outstanding features offered by this set. From the top down this is an impressively majestic looking set. Viewed from below on a high display shelf and its a bit like seeing the unmanicured animatronics framing not intended for audiences. There are however some very nice details that the creative minds of this set paid attention to. I particularly like that the hair on the figurines can be attached to mounts just like in the movie. I also like that they made the figurines taller than standard LEGO figurines. Overall, for the price I usually see this set being sold at compared to other LEGO brand sets Id say this set is not an impressive bang for your buck unless the intended recipient is a significant fan of the associated franchise. That said, the uniqueness of the figures and the majestic view (from above) of this makes it a good purchase were it on sale.

> 3 dayI got this set as a gift for my dad because he loves the avatar movie and legos. The set is very easy to complete, the bricks go together nicely and are very sturdy upon completion. I love that this set is extremely versatile and looks great upon completion.

> 3 dayGreat Lego set!! It took a couple of hours to assemble, but it was very enjoyable and easy to follow the directions. I dont usually think of Legos as being pretty, but this set really is! This pairs well with the other Avatar sets, though my boys have added them in to all sorts of different scenes.
