What an awesome kit. I spent a full afternoon building it and now its sitting proudly in my living room. Its largest Lego kit I have ever purchased and for the price it is a great value.

What a joy to build. Instant classic. Hope to keep this around long enough so my future kids can experience this one day.

I was considering an actual Saturn V model for a while, but Im not really into the painting aspect of those. So glad this came around just as I was looking for a model of my favorite rocket. It was a pleasure to put together over the course of a few nights. Wonderfully detailed and the extras really make it worth the money, including the awesome instruction book.

This was my first LEGO product since I played with them 50 years ago when you just built stuff from scratch with blocks. This is an A+ LEGO for space nuts. This product is not for the casual builder- it has almost 2000 pieces (actually 1969 pieces, year of the first moon landing, no coincidence I presume). It took 3 or 4 very dedicated hours to build. I was very impressed with several features: 1. The quality control was excellent. Not a single piece was missing. A few extras were present and disconcerting... did I forget to put this one in?? 2. The instructions and illustrations were EXTREMELY clear. Didnt keep me from goofing 2 or 3 times, but my bad, not the instructions problem. LEGO could be the poster child for clear instructions. Are you listening IKEA? 3. Although the interior of the model has some seemingly unnecessary Rube Goldberg assemblies, it ends up being a very solid model. No parts falling off and everything fit together well. The overall design is extremely clever. 4. The pieces come in 12 separate bags so one can assemble in a staged manner, and no need to sort through all 2000 pieces at once. Each stage can be completed in 15-20 minutes. 5. The finished product looks like a real model and not too LEGOish. 6. I had a really fun time putting it together, even at age 60. A few critiques: The paint pattern is not authentic manned Saturn V. The SII / SIVB interstage paint is inaccurate. However, it is closer to the real deal than Ron Howards Saturn V in the Apollo 13 movie. The product is recommended for ages 14+ but I think the precocious 10 yo LEGO builders with some patience could do this one. Definitely not a good model for the impatient or impulsive child (or adult). 5 STARS
