> 3 dayLegos are always a good purchase. Seventeen year old granddaughter loves it. Took her four hours to put it together. It does all kinds of neat things. Definitely would buy again.

Greater than one weekI have to admit, I am loving the Lego/Avenger collaborations. This is a large, detailed set that really packs a punch. Lego always takes the best aspects of the franchises its working with and makes them into imaginative, creative playsets that are challenging but not frustrating to put together (putting together a Lego kit always feels so satisfying) but then the pieces become timeless parts of a toy collection because if the Avengers hype fades, kids can take the pieces apart and use them as parts for other projects in the future.

Greater than one weekIf your kids love the Lego’s and Superheros, you can’t go wrong with this set. My 5 year old got this set for his birthday and immediately set to work building, rebuilding, and creating plenty of other structures he is proud of. This set is intended for 8+ years but my son enjoyed building it on his own with only minimal help. The set contains 838 pieces, which includes 6 figurines, 1 vehicle, and several accessories. It is accurately described and pictured above on the Amazon product page, and the instructions are straightforward. My 5-year-old loves playing with the jet; he doesn’t care much for all the added parts. However, my younger son’s favorite things in this set are the figurines. It is like getting a toy within a toy. He takes the little figures with us when we leave the house, and we have found them to be great companions for church and the doctor’s office, when stationary play is needed. While the Legos are high-quality and do not unintentionally come unhooked, like other building blocks we have tried, they do have a high price point. One thing that comforts me though is that this set (mixed with all the other Legos in our home) will last beyond my kids’ use. They are sturdy and very durable. Unless you are trying to crush them or run them over with a car, you can plan to use them with the next generation of kids. Currently, this set is selling for $64, which equals about 8 cents per piece. This seems like a high price to me, especially when considering that some of the pieces are the size of the tip of my pinkie. However, given what I have spent on Legos in the past, I consider a set to be a good deal if it is selling for under $.10 per piece.
