> 3 dayAdded to my daughters Lego Star Wars collection; this is a beautiful, fun and challenging build. At this point we have developed a fairly serious collection with several of the larger, discontinued and now Unobtanium Unicorn Star Wars sets. Once assembled this A-Wing is definitely a beautiful build and makes a wonderful display addition to any serious collection. The cockpit is among the coolest Lego cockpits ever (in my opinion). Definitely in a league above many of the less advanced, more play Lego Star Wars kits. There is some challenging architecture involved and a couple of slightly more difficult aspects to this build than some of the other Star Wars kits. Due to they way the engine nacelles are attached to the main fuselage this is definitely not designed for childs play, though an older child who is patient and experienced with Lego can certainly build it. It is a collector-grade display set. Therefore, it is not to scale with many of the more play-oriented fighter-type model sets. It is larger. Some may be put off by the amount of decal vs printed pieces. I can see some cost reduction benefits and for me the decals are just part of the challenge, fun and reward of the build experience. The ONLY thing (in my opinion) that would make this set better, would be if Lego had made a 1-of-a-kind pilot scaled to fit the build. The pilot included with the set is not in scale with the kit, and is more of an accent than a functional element. I would have loved to have seen how Lego might have made a pilot that would actually be in scale and work with that great cockpit. So okay, bottom line for any serious Lego Star Wars collector yes this should be on your display case with your other treasures. It is elegant, sleek and very cool.

> 3 dayI love legos and I also love a good looking box. I received my lego set without any bubble wrap or any paper to prevent any movement/damages. The lego box was a little damaged which as a collector I’m not going to display the box but it is always a nice addition to have the box in perfect if not good condition

06-06-2025This was my first UCS set and I was very satisfied with this build. A good looking solid set. Slightly more complex and challenging compared to a typical play set. A really great display piece. My only complaint is when buying from amazon they put the shipping label right on the box and the box was beat up quite a bit. If Id have known thats how theyd send it I would have just bought it from Lego.

11-06-2025Shipped without an outer box. Lego box was destroyed and has a nice shipping label on it. Come on Amazon, spend the money on the box. These are collector items. So much for the customer obsession.

> 3 dayOverall I think it’s a fun build but a few things left me scratching my head. Both engines (and a few other components) are held on only by 1 piece each - surprising considering the size. I would have though they would have been design with more stability. Which leads me to saying it’s not a “play time” set and more of a sit on the shelf set. Pro is the fact I was super impressed the side cannons rotate backwards as they do on the “real” A-wing.

> 3 dayI had no dislikes. I love Lego Stars Wars sets. When Im building one I really concentrate on the set, making sure I look over everything before I dive in. I am very glad I bought this set.

> 3 dayThe LEGO Star Wars A-wing Starfighter was a GREAT PANDEMIC cure for BOREDOM! It captivated my pre-teen son for A DAY! My extraordinarily LEGO GIFTED preteen son put this large 1673 piece set together in a day...he was transfixed by the construction, and found it challenging and rewarding. From the very start he was mesmerized...he loved the quality of the box before opening it, the black pages of the instruction book, the difficulty of the build, and the overall quality and look of the completed work. It is not easy to get him off the computer, but this set did the trick! Thanks LEGO for engaging him so completely...however, warning..Lego sets are habit forming and expensive, but worth it!
