To preface this review, this is my first time owning a projector. Overall, im pleased with my purchase of this. If you can catch this on sale then dont hesitate...its still a solid buy at full price but if I had to do it again, I might have waited and spent more on a higher end projector. Its small but mighty. A great thing about it is that it does not take up much space at all, so you can put it anywhere. Also, the built in battery makes it nice in case you decide to go mobile or have a power outage. There are two HDMI ports on the back of the unit which is nice. While im using both, you do have the option to use the imbedded apps in the home menu so you can really maximize what you do/dont need. If youre any type of an audiophile, the built in speaker is not going to be enough. I added an external pc speaker system to it and can was able to get the type sound I like. Its a 3.5mm jack so find what works for you. So between the external speakers, xbox, and firestick all attached to the projector, I have a lot of wires. Luckily my coffee table (which I cut a hole in) is low enough to hide the wires and powerstrip from view, but high enough to have everything plugged in. I wish the picture was brighter. For a projector thats not 4k, I think the level of detail is absolutely fantastic. Its not hard to see intricate detail at all, and makes for one heck of a movie night. As my primary viewing apparatus, this projector is NOT suited for well lit rooms. My living room gets a lot of bright indirect sunlight, and renders the projector basically useless. The darker you can make the room the better, and the picture above with the most clarity was taken in a completely dark room with no sunlight. The pictures above were taken on the vivid setting, which is the 2nd brightest setting. Anything else below vivid is dark and makes it hard to see. This projector shines with sports and video games. Regular tv/streaming is nice as well, but some of the colors dont look as good as they do for games and sports. If youre looking for your first projector, this is a solid entry level buy.

This is my third LG projector and this one doesnt disappoint. Stepping up from a LG PW800 800 Lumens 720p projector, the first thing you notice is the true HD detail. Colors are beautiful, text is crisp and even though this one is listed at 600 lumens, it is brighter. It also has a shorter throw, which is an added bonus. Bluetooth connected to my 5.1 surround sound system indoors, and to my outside speaker on the patio, both with excellent sound and no lag. The LG WebOS is nice, but the apps are limited. You get the basic ones, or can download, like Hulu, Netflix and Youtube, but dont expect much more....like VLC player. This is instantly fixed by adding my Amazon firestick. Fine tuning is done on top of the projector. The slider does have some give making it a little harder to focus where my last projector had a nice stiff slider making it easier to fine tune. It is nothing major, just wanted to point it out. Other things to note; the projector is light (great for portability) and the remote works great. There is lots of fine tuning options (color, contrast, sound input options, connecting phones, computers, etc.) Address some of the previous reviews, this projector does have fine tuning for color/contrast/brightness options, or you can just use the presets. I swear, people dont read their manuals before posting reviews. It also has a zoom option....right on the remote. It is watchable with lit windows on either side of the screen, but works best in darkened rooms. Not for full-on sunny rooms. The added TV Tuner is why I always choose LG....highly recommend this projector. No regrets.

If they made this projector with at least 1000 lumens it would be a heck of a lot better. The LG store is pretty outdated as well. They dont even offer Disney + or Movies Anywhere. Could be a great and fantastic projector but sadly they kept it conservative when it comes to those things.

I bought this and was at first thrilled with it’s performance and as a projector it is great! However, I soon discovered not only is this not really compatible with any apple products (computers, tablets, or phones), or most mobiles without purchasing a $20 app (twice which I’ll elaborate on later), the LG smart tv Software didn’t support Prime Video and several other streaming apps I wanted. So no way to watch without hooking up a laptop or phone, both of mine are Apple so no dice. For the price they really need to update their software to be more compatible and expand their app market place. Also for projecting from mobile it encourages you to buy an LG app on Mobile, which costs $20 one time. Not bad, but when it didn’t work it encouraged me to buy another app again for $20, which ultimately was a clone of the previous app, also did not work on my iPhone. I asked multiple times for a refund, never got a response from either apps’ help desk. $40 in for two defunct versions of the same app.

First, I tried multiple lower priced portable projectors and was very, very unhappy with those other choices. This unit I had working in minutes and its menu and setup was very good. Acted just like my LG TV and because LG has licensing rights, you arent redirected to some China site to install very questionable apps to make the unit work. The other units I tried had menus partially in Chinese, required questionable apps that didnt work or they displayed text in Chinese for some of the menus or apps (no English with English selected) and I know a couple loaded tracking software because I ran Wireshark and it was sending data to China. This unit works as I expected. I am giving 4 stars because it works well and the programming is professional, not Chinese junk. I gave it 3 stars for brightness, because I just wont give a higher rating when its not enough for bright rooms. However, they are honest about its brightness and it works in moderate light conditions, and very well in low light. I bought it to project on to canvas for painting and it works great for that can move the unit to the right distance and get just want I want to trace with the image. I found it works so well, I bought a portable big screen and use it in the back yard. https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B08JTXLBQM/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_asin_title_o02_s01?ie=UTF8&psc=1 I also intend to take it to the beach to setup music videos while enjoying a campfire on the beach. The Bluetooth to my battery powered speakers works perfect and stays in-sync. Overall, I think this unit is much better than every other similarly priced or lower priced options. Plan to use it for football games this weekend. Didnt buy it for that, but its GREAT. Love the battery option. I also bought a battery powered jump starter/compressor that makes for a great power bank and I use it to extend the battery life. https://www.amazon.com/CAT-Professional-Station-Starter-Compressor/dp/B088RMSXD1 NOTE: I got my jump starter for a much lower price at Costco when it was on sale.

This is a great projector, sadly I had to return it because of missing features I need like 3d,zoom and a custom preset picture option which might be there but I didnt get a chance to get deep into settings because I didnt have the optimal mounting position,I do but I didnt want to drill holes in my ceiling,I wanted to replace it where I have my wowoto h9 and because there was no zoom feature the picture was bigger than my 100 inch screen, also since I already own a portable projector the zte spro 2 so even though the picture on the lg is beautiful and better at 1080p compared to 720,keeping it was not an option for me but as a first portable full HDTV projector with some missing minor features for some its a great projector.i giving this act star review because of the speedy delivery and great customer service!

After using computer projectors for years, the LG CINEBEAM DLP Projector Model PF50KA is a great choice for either home / portable theater scenarios or for computer projection. It’s lightweight, portable, AND can run on the built-in battery for up to three hours. I can see a potential for temporary outdoor movie screenings in the summer, for office projection, and even home theater with a crisp white, flat screen. Note that I tested this in a semi-dark room on an empty bedroom wall. I don’t have a theater set up (yet). However, my main use for this device is as a portable computer projector to replace my old, broken Dell projector. The Good: - Easy to set up and use right out of the box - MANY input options—Ethernet, USB and USB-C, 2 HDMI inputs, and even an antenna input - Crisp, clear picture. My powerpoint presentation was crisp, and my Satellite TV picture was clean with no jitter or lag. - Good picture even in a light room The somewhat mediocre - There was a wizard to utilze the ‘magic’ remote that came with the box to control my DirecTV set-top box. The set-up options were less than stellar. It didn’t work. - Moving from input to input is cumbersome. It would be nice to be able to easily change inputs. - For an LED projector, this got HOT. I didn’t expect that. - The fan is at the top of the box, and the plastic isn’t rigid. Be careful when you pick it up—don’t do so with one hand or you may press on the fan. - Adjusting the screen size—there is NO way to adjust the screen projection size EXCEPT by placing the box closer/farther away from the screen. - Keystone adjustment is awkward. In general, I think this is a pretty sold choice for a projection device. I like the crisp, clear projection of my computer screen (my primary use case) and will also enjoy the TV/video options here.

Decent picture and features. Brightness is barely adequate. The two real issues I have are: 1. Sketchy focus control. If you go a bit too far you cant just come back a bit. This makes it difficult to get right and indicates lack of precision in the mechanism. 2. The lens or its cover seems to be made of plastic or plain glass and is far too easily scratched. I have collected binoculars for decades and know how to safely clean optics. In 3 months I cleaned the lens as many times, blowing dust off the lens then wiping with a damp soapy cloth then wiping dry with a lint free clean lens cloth. Nobody had access to the projector but me. The lens has permanent scratches on it nonetheless. This is not expected of optical glass in a unit in this price range. I have found no information about replacement lenses being available. Customers reading this review will decide for themselves whether thats an issue they need to be concerned about or not, but I have owned close to 200 pairs of binoculars and telescopes, often received used in filthy condition from ebay, and never encountered optical glass so easily damaged. As this is such a critical part, dont know why they cut corners here. Edit: dropping from two stars to one. After 8 months of infrequent use, maybe 100 hrs. Never dropped, its been mounted to a ceiling mount in my minivan- it failed. Power brick is good but shows no charge light on unit which will not power up. 2nd edit: sent in for warranty service. Appears LG sent a new or refurb unit back in its place. Ok with me. 3rd edit. The projector they sent is locked to Korean language, location, and services, and cannot be set to US use. Been back and forth with tech dept, now they are going to RA it for return again. LG seems responsive so Im not mad but this is kinda silly. 4th edit. After the last edit I noticed it suffers from color shifting or instability in imagin
