Held up through my year of school and a year of working full-time so far. I changed the head gear out to the Viking one.

Helmet is light and adjustable so that you can concentrate on your welding without having to fiddle around your helmet and lens.

Im not a real welder. I weld things now and then, and I can do an okay weld when I need to. I had an Antra dimming helmet with specs similar to this ones. It was okay, but it was slow to darken and would quit working without warning. This helmet feels solid but not heavy. The band is wide and comfortable. The nod-to-drop works very well. The undimmed view is very good, brighter than the Antra. Dimming is so fast that its seamless transition from undimmed room light to dimmed arc light. I dont see the arc at all before dimming. This uses standard batteries and the batteries are accessible and very easy to replace. This was very welcome, as the Antra used flat coin batteries and it was absolutely awful to open it up to change batteries. I compare because the Antra was less than half the price and that was attractive for an occasional welder. This Lincoln Electric helmet was expensive for me, but I should have bought this helmet the first time. Its more than I wanted to pay, but I feel safer.

Got this to replace a harbor freight hood. Definitely a lot better quality and it’s cheaper than the other miller & Hobart hoods. Very light weight too.

Good helmet for horizontal and vertical just don’t recommend for overhead transitions quick no arc flash just with overhead if hot slag land on helmet it will begin to lent into helmet was able to make a return no problem though and just switched over to a pipeline hood and purchased a tradesman transition lense apart and swapped out

I am giving this a 1-star review because the helmet arrived missing parts. The listing states that the helmet comes with 2 extra inside and outside impact resistant clear lenses. The box states that two AAA batteries and 2 extra lenses are included. Nothing was included, and there was no user manual, to boot. I asked the seller where the batteries and the lenses were. The seller (O2) responded this way: Sorry, this helmet does not take batteries. The description states solar lens, which is powered up by the light Thank you Unfortunately, the seller is dead wrong. I know because I supplied my own AAA batteries and installed them in the battery compartment inside the helmet. The seller did not say anything about the missing lenses. I suppose he would say that the helmet does not use lenses, either. The helmet works fine (once you supply your own batteries). However, it is aggravating to not get what you paid for. It is doubly aggravating when the seller dispenses wrong information in reponse to a help request, and blows the whole thing off.

Great mask for how cheap it is. Works as expected.

I purchased this welding hood for maintenance at work. Pros It’s really simple and affordable with the auto dimming knob on the outside! I prefer this over the inner control because it makes going from grinding to welding much easier, and for me I work in a rock quarry so it’s not a clean environment. This helps control any unwanted mud or dirt from actually going inside your hood! Great function. Cons Small view slot but that’s all I can complain about
