    How the world really works

Not a great or profound dark comedy, but a decent and entertaining one. The message -- war is big business -- was very much not a new revelation in 2005, but its got its small, savage insights, and writer-director Andrew Niccol (Truman Show, Gattaca) delivers them with breezy aplomb. Cage gives one of his more restrained performances, which is always a good thing, though it is ridiculous that he couldnt ditch his Valley Girl accent to play a Ukrainian from Brighton Beach. Jeez. He gets a lot of help from the rest of the strong cast.

Its really hard to find anything to dislike about this movie. Its well written with a strong cast. Perfect for a Sunday afternoon when you dont have anything to do.

Nicolas Cage is one of my favorite actors, but my love for Jared Leto is what determined my desire to want to watch this movie. I had seen it before but had no idea who Jared Leto even was the first time I watched it. Story line was great. Ethan Hawke was great as the DEA agent running after Nicolas Cage to try and catch him in the act. Jared Letos role as Nicolas brother Vitaly was awesome. It was apparent that money can buy you anything including weapons to destroy entire countries.

The first time I saw this movie, I wasnt sure what exactly to make of it. There were moments that were rather fun (such as various instances where Yuri has to think of clever ways to avoid being arrested), some moments that seemed narratively forced, and other moments where I was spellbound by the emotionally powerful dialogue and performances in front of me. Overall, Im glad I watched and rewatched this movie, and the strong moments of this film will definitely stay with me for a long time.

The story went very fast at the beginning and then began to drag a bit, I would recommend if you are interested in the gun trade

I thought it was a good movie.i saw it for the first time when it came to theaters, so its been awhile. Just finished it & I still dig it ! Nicholas Cage & Ethan Hawke in the gun running business, with Hawke running off the rails (coincidentally by doing lots of em) with a drug problem, causing friction between brothers and potentially ruining Cages business. He is soon pitted against some of the fiercest enemies that he deals with. Lot of story telling, lots of action. All in all of you like war movies then get this, its an excellent film. The vast cast is good, acting is top notch, and man...theres So many gorgeous weapons. Buy it,I got mine for 4$(including shippi mg)

A fascinating story that is the perfect vehicle for Nick Cage. Great cast, well acted, interesting and diverse locations and a highly entertaining plot. Gun running, dodging Interpol, dealing to the most reprehensible international warlords and hiding all of it from your wife, parents and son. Recommended.

    B. Merritt already wrote an excellent review on the story, so Im not gonna go into that. Instead, Im going to touch the fact that this movie, sadly, lost all of its bonus content during the transition from DVD to Blu-ray. Granted, the bonus content wasnt exactly mind-blowing either, but the clips of the cast and crew talking about this production were still very nice. Since this is actually my favorite movie, and considering the massive space that a Blu-ray disc has, I assumed that along with the improved HD video and audio quality, there might be more extra material. Unfortunately, not only is there no such added content, but the bonus content found in the DVD version of the film, has all been completely removed. All of it. 100% gone. Instead, the only bonus content is a trailer of a few Lionsgate movies coming to Blu-ray. Wow, how thrilling... I didnt rate this with 5 stars, due to the fact that they removed the bonus content that had already been included in the DVD, which is stupid, since a DVD can store much, much, much less space.
