> 24 hourI wish i had read the negative reviews before i wasted my money on this. Hopeless is the only word i can think of for this excuse for a programme, the virtual tree thing is just a gimmicky joke, as for the rest, words fail me !!!! I have taken the unprecedented step of uninstalling it and junking it, 40 quid down the drain, you live and learn.....avoid.

> 24 hourThe choice for Family Tree programs for Mac seems to be a little limited. This program addresses the basics of entry and record OK, its the display side that lets it down. An instance being if a person has more than one partner in their lifetime the second partner is displayed on the far side of the family tree to their basic entry. The connection being made by a long and tenuous line right across the family tree. The other point on Display is the virtual family tree. When you have, maybe, hundreds of names in your tree the virtual tree becomes a mixed up and totally undecypherable load of junk. As far as I am concerned its a waste of space and memory. Cut it out, make the program more manageable, and a little cheaper, and fix the second partner issue, mentioned above, and it would be a reasonable program. As it is - 2 stars only Im afraid.

> 24 hourI havent used a family tree software for some time and this takes a little getting used to. I was able to import a previous gedcom file with no difficulties. Adding new family members is not difficult once you are into the swing of things. The only downside after 3 weeks is that I have not been able to load the software onto my computer and so must insert the cd everytime - not a disaster.

> 24 hourI now have upgraded over the net to version 5.6.8 at no charge. They still have a few minor details to iron out but overall a good product. Once I learn the ins and outs Ill feel more comfortable using it. Support via e-mail is a little slow sometimes, but they do respond.

> 24 hourIt doesnt measure up to my previous FamHist programme Brothers Keeper. I find that the family grouping becomes confusing with a large family in view, however as B.K. is non-Mac, I dont have much choice at present. The Reporting looks ok, but Ive hardly delved into the programme yet. I will submit again after a month or two.

> 24 hourSo far I am liking it, would have liked a link to do pages though, have lots of written material and photos re family and notes seem a bit messy, and cant seem to find where to put wedding dates as yet, but it is supposed to be there ... still working on that one. apart from that, I think it is going to work out well, have so much information to input before I go live. Work in progress ...

> 24 hourFirstly I have to congratulate Amazon for their speedy delivery. However not so impressed by Mac as although the programme itself looks very good and with some ease I have been able to insert data, given it is not one of the recent versions, it has been difficult to obtain a full user guide as you only receive the disc and shortened start up guide. It would have been more helpful if the guide was included especially about importing GEDCOM files etc.
