> 3 dayI havent used a family tree software for some time and this takes a little getting used to. I was able to import a previous gedcom file with no difficulties. Adding new family members is not difficult once you are into the swing of things. The only downside after 3 weeks is that I have not been able to load the software onto my computer and so must insert the cd everytime - not a disaster.

> 3 dayI now have upgraded over the net to version 5.6.8 at no charge. They still have a few minor details to iron out but overall a good product. Once I learn the ins and outs Ill feel more comfortable using it. Support via e-mail is a little slow sometimes, but they do respond.

> 3 dayThe choice for Family Tree programs for Mac seems to be a little limited. This program addresses the basics of entry and record OK, its the display side that lets it down. An instance being if a person has more than one partner in their lifetime the second partner is displayed on the far side of the family tree to their basic entry. The connection being made by a long and tenuous line right across the family tree. The other point on Display is the virtual family tree. When you have, maybe, hundreds of names in your tree the virtual tree becomes a mixed up and totally undecypherable load of junk. As far as I am concerned its a waste of space and memory. Cut it out, make the program more manageable, and a little cheaper, and fix the second partner issue, mentioned above, and it would be a reasonable program. As it is - 2 stars only Im afraid.

Greater than one weekJust received this in the mail. Havent tried it yet. Frustrated that my brand new software is version 5.4.2 when the brand new version (6.0.4) can be purchased online for $49. Apparently I can get a free upgrade by sending documentation to their support department showing when I purchased version 5. Ive sent off the Amazon shipping notice, well see what their response is. You can also buy the upgrade for $25. It looks like the upgrade has a lot of new things so for now Im not going to start with the old and have to either reenter or relearn.

> 3 dayThe best family history for macs Its easy to get gadcoms down and sorts out your family decendents, it will work out who your ancesters are to you like which person is your greeat great grandparents are or 2nd 3rd cousins etc, even family from branch members of your family, but you have to put the details in first. A must have for any one doing their family history on an Apple Mac. One good thing is once you have bought on you need never get another as all upgrades are downloded free

10-06-2025Just chose this (an older version) as it was very cheap compared to the current version. Works absolutely fine on MacBook Pro (Mavericks). Very happy with the purchase. Could import the data file from Ancestry.co.uk family tree file.

> 3 dayIt doesnt measure up to my previous FamHist programme Brothers Keeper. I find that the family grouping becomes confusing with a large family in view, however as B.K. is non-Mac, I dont have much choice at present. The Reporting looks ok, but Ive hardly delved into the programme yet. I will submit again after a month or two.
