Greater than one weekIm a long time DJ, podcaster and amateur but budding electronic music producer. Ive slowly began learning various Digital Audio Workstations (D.A.W.) over the past 2 years but have never used Magix software before. Primarily I used FL Studio but in the beginning I found it very overwhelming and complex so I was looking for something simpler. Although reviews seem to be mixed I thought I would give MAGIX Music Maker 2016 Live a try. Here are my thoughts;

Greater than one weekIm not a musician, and I did not have the previous version of this software. So, sorry if my review seems a bit simplistic: It is from an inexperienced POV. But, bottom line? I thoroughly enjoy spending some down time making music with this software. It is a LOT of fun to use. Hours and hours and hours fly by creating music and goofing around experimenting with this software. Im glad to have it on my computer.

> 3 dayIts the real deal with the newer features relative to the 2022 version, but we are left without Beatbox 2 and imposed the piano reel style sequencer which I have always disliked.

> 3 dayThere is a reason why the box edition (no disc – card with download instructions only) is $27 while the regular download is $99. It does not include the 4 Premium Soundpools that are advertised on the product box (only the 6 Standard Soundpools get installed). Magix customer service says it refers to a couple of samples in the “live” application, but that’s just damage control. Those are not Soundpool sets.

> 3 dayAfter installing this on my computer I had nothing but problems with my computer. I think that something that as bundled with it did not agree with something on my computer. The program itself was difficult to use. It had a lot of problems with getting hung up, running very slowly and it just wasnt easy to figure out how to use the program. Granted Im not highly technically inclined, but I can usually get around a program well enough to figure it out. This software was confusing to me. Because of the computer problems I was having, I ended up uninstalling it, doing a system restore and running a cleanup software just to make sure nothing harmful was left on my computer. I probably could have figured it out if I had sent more time on it, but I really just wanted it off my computer.

> 3 dayDescent music maker for the price and very easy to learn to use. This software is easy enough to learn that my six-year old had no trouble learning the basics within minutes. The majority of it is simple drag and drop with sample music pieces, sounds, and vocals that are included. Had a little trouble getting the mic to work with this software, which I previously never had an issue with, but it was ultimately resolved. Ive had no issues with lag at all as some other reviewers have mentioned.
