I lost my old version, that was really heavy piece. I read about this that its new and light. Its from Manfrotto and that is already guarantee of quality for me. I wont put a 2500 dollar camera on a flimsy tripod with a flimsy mount. This is so light compared to the old ones. Its great, buy it.
