Mens Hair Pomade by American Crew, Medium Hold with High Shine, 3 Oz (Pack of 2)

I read about this stuff online before I bought it...I have very thick and straight hair. I wanted a change from my usual go-to hair products. I wanted that Mad Men look for my hair - Before now, I had that Beach Bum intentionally messy look I had since college. You know the one...where I try to make it look like my hair actually looks good when in reality I look like I am trying to be a 20-something. Being that I am about to turn 40 - I looked silly with such hair. Yes, indeed. I needed a more refined look. I really loved the sleek and sophisticated hairstyles of characters like Don Draper in Mad Med (TV Show). This stuff is apparently what they use on set for the actor(s). I cant verify that, but I can say American Crew Pomade IS FREAKING AMAZING. I love this stuff...I finally look like a grown up (even if I am not inside) I would recommend this to any man that wants a more suave look, more refined and professional - Now when I enter a room, my hair talks for me - it says Dont mess with this guy - just look at his beautiful hair. It is glorious. Some might even say Majestic. Honestly, I dont know if such conversations take place, but I know this stuff is amazing if you have straight, thick unruly hair. I cant speak for other hair types, but Id assume it would be just as amazing for you. So, the big question...do I look like Don Draper now? No - only Don Draper looks like Don Draper - but I think I might be able to pull off being his stunt double!

I love the smell

Great product easy to spread and its very effectice

Just recently I started getting into pomade and I noticed this listed at the very top for a little less than $11. I decided to give it a try and after more than a week of using It, I decided to give my final thoughts on it, both on what I like and dislike about it. Likes: The smell and quality of the pomade are nice and can be worked through the hair easily and easily comes out with water. In addition to that, it gives a nice slick shine to your hair when applied. Dislikes: The amount of pomade in the container is very disappointing when compared to other brands. For example, for just $1.80 more you can get more than double the amount from Suavecito. So just to almost match the quantity that Suavecito has you would have to spend an ADDITIONAL $11 just to match. In addition to that if you have long hair you need to use a larger quantity of it which will make you buy more which is an even BIGGER WASTE OF MONEY. Conclusion: Would I buy this product again? No. Why would I spend more money on a product that will bleed me dry when I could instead purchase from another company that can give me the same quality with a higher quantity amount? NOW, I bet this pomade would be much more effective for people with shorter hair styles but still, this will be a product I will never purchase again.

Im not sure what to say about the other reviewers who have claimed to get a substandard product (yellow, smelly). This is my first time using this product. Mine seems to be clear (its a dark container) and smells like a hair product. I have very curly hair, and to go without product would result in an undesirable poof of fluff. Likewise, I have no desire to slick my hair into highly gelled wet-looking but hard-as-a-rock curls. This product puts me nicely in the middle, and leaves my hair controlled throughout the day while retaining a nice finish (slight luster, but not wet) and without a feeling of residue. The product feels very thick when you scoop it out and rub it on your hands, but when run through damp hair, thins out nicely. I only use my fingers (rather than a comb) because I like to keep the curls and avoid the potential for frizz / fluff. If you are like me, with curly hair and havent found a happy solution to control the curls while avoiding using multiple products, this is definitely worth a try.

I am a male in my early 30s have very thick hair which can be hard to manage. I have been using this product since my early 20s and its really the only hair product that I like. I bought a cheaper pomade once from Walmart; it worked but I didnt like it as good as the Crew Pomade. Crew Pomade smells good, it doesnt make my hair feel grimy. It holds my hair in place very well, without making it stiff. There have been times I went to sleep without washing it out, and when I woke up my hair was messed up. So I just sprinkle some water on my hair and I am able to recomb it. It works best for me after I shower and my hair is damp, but not soaking wet. I usually towel dry my hair, then apply and style. Great product! The price has really gone up in the stores over the last several years, so I turned to Amazon and I can get it shipped to my home for about $5 less than buying it from Walmart! And by the way, I noticed some of the other reviews reported that they changed their product. I have been using this product for years and havent noticed any change. So Im not sure what they are referring to.

This pomade from Crew provides just enough hold. It’s clear and smooth, not sticky, and it doesn’t make my hair look or feel greasy.

Just came back from Europe and forgot my American Crew line of hair care products at home in the US. I was in Amsterdam for 3 weeks, and I must have purchased at least 10 different pomade/hair products from their local stores. NOTHING comes close to the quality of American Crew! NOTHING. I even thought about having my friend go to my apartment, and pick this stuff up, and send it to me in Europe through the mail! I couldnt find any store in Amsterdam that carried this stuff. And my whole trip, I looked like a riffraff; homely and unsightly hair lacking shine, body, and texture. Something that ALL of these products have managed to contribute to my hair styling. I will NEVER leave home again without this stuff. ALL of their products; from the hair gels, to pomades, fibers, and grooming creams work magic on my hair! Even at the end of a long work day, I can run my fingers through my hair and my hairstyle still looks great (sometimes even better) by the end of the day. I have dark, thick, loose-curly hair. I am half latino and European mix, and I do not have that bone-straight Anglo hair that is much easier and low-maintenance than mine. Those who have that super straight hair may be able to get away with using generic hair products from the grocery store, but my thick curly hair cannot look good with any other stuff. NO other hair products Ive tried in my 30+ years existing on this planet comes close to American Crew. Thank you American Crew for making me feel like super model!
