Mens Hair Pomade by American Crew, Medium Hold with High Shine, 3 Oz (Pack of 2)

I use this pomade everyday. It has a better hold than many other pomades I have tried

Was hoping it was like the medium hold pomade where you can run your fingers through your hair. That’s not case as the heavy hold hardens like a gel would. You notice immediately when taking it out of the jar how sticky it is. You have limited time to style unlike the medium hold pomade. Another downside is there is no shine like you get w/ the medium hold pomade. Basically if you want a matte finish that hardens and holds you hair in place than this is for you. If you are expecting a high shine with a higher hold but can still run your fingers through your hair then the high hold is not the product for you.

I am 80 and have frizzy thining hair. This product does a good job. I put a little on my hand,wet my hands, and rub my scalp. Hair stays in place and not matted down. Product last a long time.

It is odd to say, but this product actually changed my life! I have very thin hair. Just combing it after a shower was useless, because it never stayed in place, and the least wind made it blow in all directions. For decades I used to have to use hair spray to hold it in place. This looked OK until... any big wind came up and blew it out of place ONCE, or I accidently hit/ran into something that dislodged my hair. Then the look was gone. It refused to go back in place until I got home or back to work and could re-spray it. The alcohol in the spray also made my scalp scale up and itch. Then one day... I had just washed my hair, and had not put in hairspray yet, and I went to the barber and after the haircut he asked me if I wanted to try Crew Pomade. I was skeptical, but at that moment, for some reason, I said sure, I will give it a try. I was amazed my hair actually acted like I had thick hair! It actually stayed in place when I combed it, and looked pretty natural (and as a bit of a bonus it made some of my gray hair look a bit more of my original color). I didnt have to use the hair spray any more until I showered again and washed it all out, and I have to put it back on (The amount takes a few times to know how much to put on). But no more worry about wind, (or getting hair knocked when I get in the car and the sun visor hits it unexpectedly...) If it get out of place, just comb it again, and youre as good as new! (As a note: One thing that confuses me is sometimes I get a new container and inside it looks like the lighter color and consistency of say Vaseline, and other times I open a new one and it looks like a dark brownish clear thick jel. They both seem to work the same but I dont understand why the difference.) But for me, I can say it is one of the few products I have EVER used, that I can say it literally changed my life!

My husband said he likes this pomade mainly for the fact that it doesn’t leave any white product in his hair and he only has to use a minimal amount of product to style his hair.

I used Redken Water Wax for the longest time until they discontinued it! I then had to try and find a product that was similar. This was difficult because most pomades were heavy and didn’t make make my hair look “piecey”. This product did exactly that AND so much cheaper than Redken!

If you hate “hard hair” and would rather prefer your hair a bit greasy, then use this. Also, if you don’t use a lot, it’s hardly even greasy. Just know that all pomade which gives a bit of a “wet look” it’s wet either because it’s unnaturally hard or it’s oil based. This is oil based and it’s the only pomade to which I have gone back.

I am a male in my early 30s have very thick hair which can be hard to manage. I have been using this product since my early 20s and its really the only hair product that I like. I bought a cheaper pomade once from Walmart; it worked but I didnt like it as good as the Crew Pomade. Crew Pomade smells good, it doesnt make my hair feel grimy. It holds my hair in place very well, without making it stiff. There have been times I went to sleep without washing it out, and when I woke up my hair was messed up. So I just sprinkle some water on my hair and I am able to recomb it. It works best for me after I shower and my hair is damp, but not soaking wet. I usually towel dry my hair, then apply and style. Great product! The price has really gone up in the stores over the last several years, so I turned to Amazon and I can get it shipped to my home for about $5 less than buying it from Walmart! And by the way, I noticed some of the other reviews reported that they changed their product. I have been using this product for years and havent noticed any change. So Im not sure what they are referring to.
