it work... okay, maybe. I would not suggest these if you have the clip that came with the CB. I got these for my cobra 29 and cobra 19 and the worst part about this product is the screws. They did not screw into the CB, although I was able to get 1 of the screws to stay in on the C-19 and on the C-29 I had to use the bolt holding on the case cover. These are probably better used on the dash where the screws make their own threads. But if all you need it to do is hold the mic the this product is what you need

Ive used mobile radios for over 45 years and have never had an issue with a Mic Mount until today. Received and installed today and the first time I put the mic in the holder the middle retaining tab snapped off. These things are supposed to have some give to them so the microphone can firmly be put in it and stay in place. These are so rigid they are fragile. Luckily I am mounting this in a way that the retaining tab isnt that big of a deal but really? I ordered two of them and am a little leery of using the second one.

All the bends are off giving it a bad mounting angle. Worst part was it didnt grip the mic like my old one. Tried to bend the tang a tad and it broke with little effort.

Its a minor point, but irritating. And maybe its not even the manufacturers fault. But the width of the hanger button on the back of my 2m mobile microphone (Kenwood TM-221a) is 0.507 inches. Thats 507 milliinches for for those of you who judge me for not using metric. The width of the slot the microphone button has to fit into is 0.440. So theres only 0.067 (67 milliinches) of engagement between the hanger button and the holder. So the microphone button doesnt engage the holder and drops out. Not a huge problem. I can make one that will work. The old machinists joke being, It costs what? I can make one for probably twice that! Be forewarned. If you have a newer radio with a smaller hanger button, it might not work with this clip.
