Microsoft Surface Laptop 4 15” Touch-Screen – Intel Core i7 - 32GB - 1TB Solid State Drive - Matte Black

I got the 15-inch Ryzen 7 version in grey metal. Ive had the SP2, SL2, SL3, and now this SL4. Its the best Surface yet! Its got better battery life and better thermal performance than my intel-based SL3.

Touchpad ceased working properly within the first year. Ive tried all diagnostics I can find online and ultimately Ive been advised that it is defective hardware and that i need to send the computer in for repair. I do not have the time to lose as this is a business computer and I need to work. I see this is a COMMON PROBLEM and seems to be a major defect with this product. I remember trying to change to Surface from Ipad a while back and the Surface was a lemon too... does Microsoft build a good product that one can buy and just use? Stay away from this product.

I have owned this laptop for three months with very light usage. About two weeks ago the battery life became shorter and shorter. Now if its not plugged in all the time the battery goes from 100% to 0 just sitting there, not being used, in other words turned off. WTF! Before this started happening when it was plugged in charging it would become seriously hot just sitting on the table top. All that being said, this laptop that I spent over $1000.00 on will be going back to Best Buy. Very disappointed.

Im homebound for ~6 months with 2 broken ankles; the sporadic function of the Chromebook I had was driving me nuts trying to get anything done or keep myself entertained while stuck at home. Bought the Surface after my positive experiences with the one I am supplied with for work and now I am able to get stuff done all day without freeze-ups and rebooting every 12-24 hours. And the configuration options available were mind blowing...it took a bit to decide what it was I actually needed on the unit verses the cost of paying for ALL the options.

Purchased as a replacement for old Surface with a broken screen. I could be wrong, but it was hard to find a Surface Laptop 4 on short notice and this one seems to have fit the bill.

Light, slick and just perfect.

I am an active duty military member and I bought this laptop in order to support my job, teleworking, and college classes. It worked great. I could do everything I needed to and more!

This is my third Surface and I’m really pleased. The first lasted me 5 years and I loved it. The second I took from my son after he left for college and got a new computer that suited his needs more. But because he kind of abused it it didn’t last long. So far I’m loving this one! The battery life is solid but like any laptop watch too many videos or use too much processing power and the battery life goes down. The touch screen is much improved over previous models. The one downside for my needs is no slot for a SD or mini SD card. There’s only one USB port and one USB C port so you really need a hub.

I believe this company intentionally sold me a defective product and are now telling me to go through Microsoft for a refurbished laptop. Unacceptable!! This laptop only lasted 3 months!!
