> 3 dayI stripped some of the wire and measured the strands with a micrometer, and counted the strands under a microscope. There are indeed 43 strands as the seller describes, but theyre each only 0.113mm diameter. This equates to about 20 AWG or thinner, with an ampacity of 5 amps, not even close to 18 AWG. Ive gotten similar results on import red-black bulk hookup wire imported from the land whose capital is at geo coordinates 40N 116E. So its the typical result with random electronic parts from Amazon: no brand, no markings, no identifiable source, samples deficient, not to be trusted. For a final test I assembled a loop-back out of one pigtail receptacle and the mating plug screw connector, pushed 5 amps through that, and metered 290 mV at the pigtail. So theres about 58 milliohms in the receptacle/plug combination. The pigtail wire was hardly warm, but the connectors were warm to the touch. So I found theyre OK for 5 amps.

> 3 dayUPDATE: After a few months, Im throwing away the screw connectors. The pigtails are OK, but there is a spring clip that blocks the opening of the screw terminals and keeps small-gauge stranded wire from entering. Several have had open circuits inside, which is tough to debug. Screws continue to strip. Tried going back to valley ent, theyve changed to this style also. See Item B079RBL339 for the Chanzon part I finally settled on. My initial order had all one gender of pigtail, seller was quick to replace with another complete order. All good! Until I started dipping into the pile of screw-terminal connectors. Many have screws that strip easily (Ive been using these type connectors for years on CCTV cameras, and never stripped a screw). None have clamp openings that are actually open: I cant push in CAT5 or small gauge stranded wire because its not stiff enough to push past the metal tab even with the screw all the way out. These commodity connectors all LOOK the same, but theyre not all MADE the same.

> 3 dayMake it more then 2mm ... Otherwise the quality is good. But as they only stripped such a small end and tinned it with solder, it makes it harder to remove more insulation. Either just cut them flush and dont tin, or do more than 2mm.

16-11-2024Product quality is great but only 9 pair of the wires arrived. Not a huge thing except I really needed all of them for my project.

> 3 dayFor whatever reason I constantly need these things. Buck and boost converters, running stuff off old computer power supplies and so on and on. Easy connection to power supplies for all sorts of purposes. The connector is almost THE standard size for all wall-wart type power supplies, particularly the ubiquitous 12v variety. I used up a pile of these already and am delighted to replenish to stock.
