Edit: Downgraded from 5 to 4 star because after about 6 months, the bottom inch (near home button) of the screen stopped responding, or at least didnt respond well and I had to replace the screen. Not sure if this was the product or poor installation on my part. I replaced the unit with the same one. You cant beat the price and ease of installation, so I still recommend this unit. Original Review - Still valid. This unit is great and the kit has everything you need, except for a heat gun. I found a decent one for a good price. About installation: 1.) Test the before putting the screws back for the LCD. I test before I screw and the digitizer and after. During one of the (Ive bought 3) replacements, the ribbon cable for the unit wasnt properly connected. Since I didnt have the screws or adhesive down it was easy to lift the LCD out and re-seat the cable. 2.) Be careful with the ribbon cable when laying the screen back in place. I recommend using the spudger (long metal tool) to help position the cable. When I did the first repair, I just laid the screen down and after a while, got erratic performance. I had to heat the screen up again, lift it up and carefully lay the screen down again while using the spudger to help fold / position the cable. 3.) It is somewhat difficult to get the backing off the adhesive that is on the frame. Once you get is started it comes off easily, but I had to use a raser to get the back off. I will buy more units in the future.
