MyInvoices & Estimates Deluxe

What a terrible piece of software. We had used a much older version that was simple to use and provided the information we needed. Had been using Peachtree (another disappointing program), then went to Quickbooks. We are a small machine shop that does not require lots of bells and whistles, but its so hard to find an invoice and inventory program that meets our needs. We dont have inventory per se, we dont stock inventory, we make parts when ordered and immediately ship to the customer. Most software does not accomodate this very well. The worst aspect of My Invoices and Estimates is the way they look at Items. They sort items using description, instead of the Item Number. This does not work for us (cant imagine that it would work well for anyone). We may produce a hundred different spacers and they have to be tracked by Item/Part Number. The only work-around for us would be to enter both the part number AND the description in the Description category, which would get very cumbersome. Or we could enter the Item Number only in the Description category, but then we wouldnt know what to call the item. Just a very bad way to design a program meant to keep up with inventory (I know that is not its main function, but its still part of what it is meant to do.). The program is very choppy in the way anything is entered, you have to go back to the top of the page to click on save and then new. There is nothing user friendly about this program. Sure would like to have the old Invoices and Estimates program back.

Its a little hard to understand for me but the more I tinker with it the more I learn. Its actually not to bad but I just need to be more tech savvy. It does what I needed it to so thats a big plus.

We have several companies and found the software just too difficult to set up and use.

Simply cant click an invoice and mark it paid. Multiple steps required. One customer, several invoices, you gotta open each invoice individually and type in amount paid. Cumbersome. There are other things I dont like but Im not here to write a novel. I could but Im too busy wasting time on invoices.

I used this software for years, when I had computer problems I installed it on a different computer to keep my business running, but avanquest shut the software off on both computers and left me with no access to my invoices or customers. I explained what happened and the only way they offered to help was if I bought upgrade. did not need upgrade, needed my paid for software to run.

After working a few days getting the invoices to look how I wanted them to. its putting a comma between the state and zip code! That is so wrong.... I was disappointed it doesnt print my envelopes like my previous version did, now this. I cant sent out an invoice that looks like I dont know 3rd grade grammar. :( The part I did like about it was that you could save it as a PDF and my earlier version you could not. So fix the stupid comma issue and I would use this thing!! Could I be overlooking something int he program I could edit to take it out, maybe, but I have spent countless days on editing this to get it how I want it, its insanity I tell you! I paid $40 for mine. They are much cheaper now I see.

I totally would use this if the templates were not so outdated. Printing these templates would waste so much ink/toner. You do not have the option to change or remove the rainbow of colors from the templates.
