We bought this product for a three level, 2500 hundred square feet house with an attached garage with an office over the garage. We were hoping to have a good Internet signal throughout our home... To our surprise, we not only have great Internet throughout our house...we also have great Internet reception on most of our one acre lot. I highly recommend this product. We did have a slight problem a couple days after first hooking this up and we were having a hard time signing into the Internet. We went to their troubleshooting page which told us how to reset the system which took a few seconds and we have had great service ever since. We have been using this system with a Netgear Nighthawk and an antenna. We live in a rural area about two and a half miles from an AT&T tower and our experience has been great.

Bought ours from Best Buy for some advice and settled for these Orbis. We live in the country with slow (6mbs) internet which was ok. The problem is our router would constantly switch with the range extenders and frequently get an upstream error (whatever that meant). We tried different routers (4!) and range extenders but ALL were unreliable (yes, ALL). Splurged on these at $300 and I have to say, they work awesomely! No more switching errors or upstream errors with very consistent connection! I work from home and my office is a converted 10x12 shed and the internet is just as fast out there as it is in the house (relatively speaking - hey! 6mbs is fast to me). **Bonus** The Orbi also includes Circle to keep out all the vulgar and nasty stuff to protect the kids!! Nice.

I have internet everywhere, and I do mean everywhere. I set up one unit upstairs, two downstairs (this includes the router) and one in the garage. I never lose connectivity. From the street to the alley, I have no issues connecting to the web with this mesh node. They are a bit bulky, but I am sure as technology advances they will get smaller. Still not too bulky at all.

Do not under any circumstances buy this. Mine worked for 5 months, then crashed every 15 minutes. I finally got a hold of support and they told me Id have to pay ANOTHER $150 to have technician call me and diagnose my problems. So even though I followed everything explained in their user community, could define each step it failed in, Netgear will not give me new hardware (under warranty) unless I pay their ransom. Dont buy. Netgear is awful.

Do not purchase, read user forums to uncover the security failings of the product which renders it useless. Waste of Time and Money.

I purchased this Netgear Orbi whole house mesh Wifi system in June of 2020. I didnt realize that it was not auto updating the firmware, but noticed it on my own after several firmware updates had passed. After hours of work trying to update the firmware for both the router and the satellites, I noticed that I could not update the components through a wireless connection, it had to be done using an ethernet cable attached to the router. How do you do this on a totally wireless household? The only potential wired device I could use would be a desktop on the 2nd floor of my condo. I would have to completely tear the desktop down and move it to the basement to do this using an ethernet cable! I also did not realize how obsolete the product I purchased was until I installed it in my condo. Not very much fun for me. I suppose Ill have to trash this system and start over. Make sure when you purchase your whole house wireless system that you can update the firmware wirelessly!!!

I have been struggling for a very long time from dropping signals finally I have great signal without watching a circle going round and round on my screen. I have a large 2 story house and work shop and I have great signal everywhere even my ring camera in the tool shed in my back yard works now. This is a wonderful product and extremely easy to set up as well

although it connected to my modem w/o any issues router wasn’t connecting to internet, after trying multiple recommendations found online and not getting results I decided to reset my modem to factory settings and voila everything works great.

I bought this Orbi to increase my reception in my home because the signal strength from Direct TV was inferior. The Orbi has been a problem since Day 1, but I blamed the problem on Direct TV. My TV would intermittently stop receiving the WiFi signal. Over the last 3 months I had a Direct TV technician out to my home twice. Each time they wanted to charge me $99.95 for the visit. Each time the man was in my home for nearly 2 hours. The first guy was to no avail. Previously I had problems with my service so they sent a tech to my home. He recommended I buy a Netgear Orbi system. On his advice I bought this system. I got it and I installed it and it worked fine for a few weeks or a month. Then I started losing my Netflix signal. This happened 3 times and caused me to miss days of service each time, but a service supervisor was able to finally reset from Direct TV HQ. Finally it died again and they sent a tech. He fixed it but a few weeks later it stopped. i have afriend who is a computer tech by trade. He came to my home and re-installed everything and spent 2 hours to finally get it going again. this lasted a couple weeks and then same problem. Direct TV sent another guy here and he couldnt get it to work. He ended up separating my Wired computer with the Orbi and my other Wireless devices Without the Orbi. it just went out again and we determined it is the Netgear ORBI causing the problem. Now I just found out that there was only a 60 day period of time to return it. I am just going to trash it. Dont Buy this piece of junk if you use Direct TV. Its not compatible and the warranty is worthless. Maybe it works with another service, but dont gamble your money. Im calling Amazon in the morning to see what they can do for me. Grade of F+.
