> 3 dayMy string lights are on a timer and turn on at 6PM and off at 10PM. Occasional use in the morning. I have resorted to using a Sharpie marker to put a date on the bulb when it is replaced. Ill be tracking the life of the bulb to verify just how long they last to prove my hunch.

Greater than one weekI have yet to find a crappy product on Amazon, but it helps to do your homework. We bought outdoor lights for the pathway and we use them every single night. It took almost 2 years for them to burn out, and some are still going. A great price.

Greater than one weekPurchased these to replace 11W incandescent string lights to save energy and hopefully last much longer. They look really nice in person, the long LED strips look more like a traditional bulb than other LED lights, which is very important for the hanging, visible way they are being used. The light is nice and warm, which is great for a patio, but would probably be too warm for interior use. They are brighter than the older 11W bulbs but use 1/5 of the power (for 18 bulbs, this is 36W vs. 198W) so I feel less bad about leaving them on, although realistically, they will take a very long time to pay for themselves on energy savings alone (~$.004/hr vs. ~$.02/hr at $.11/kWh would need ~650 days at 4hrs daily use to break even) but if you consider the cost of replacing incandescent bulbs several times over a few years, versus hopefully never replacing these, it is worth it! They are also very dimmable, so that I can still match the brightness of the old bulbs, while using even less power, but can turn them up if I need more light. I am using a z-wave smart dimmer with them. To me it looks like they can dim much lower than the advertised 50%. Their pricing is a little annoying however, because in this pack they are quite reasonable, but I need 24 bulbs, not 18. They also sell a 3-pack, but for the price of two 3-packs I can get a another 18-pack, but I dont have any use for extra bulbs! 9/17/18 update: all of the bulbs still work after two years of near daily use outdoors. They are under a roof but still exposed to rain and snow if there is much wind. They worked great right through the winter and seem unaffected by the cold. 10/24/19 update: Everything is still working great! No bad bulbs. I think they may have actually paid for themselves by now!

> 3 dayInitially, I considered returning the bulbs. They are significantly brighter than similar incondescent bulbs. Howecer, I was excited about saving some money on my electriciry bills. These bulbs run cool to the touch, even after hours of continuous use. They are quite yellow at full brightness. At 75% they look very similar to their incondescent counterpart. Lights too bright? The solution...build a dimmer box (check out youtube).
