I didnt think Id mind the lighter colour of this too much, but when it came the plastic feels incredibly cheap and flimsy compared to the old DS Lite charger. A little stiff as well. I dont expect this to stay looking new for very long as lighter coloured things tend to stain and age quicker – but since it doesnt get really warm, and it isnt kept plugged in when not in use, probably not as quickly as extension cables, or a router, or other light coloured electronic. It charges just fine so until it starts to look like a marshmallow Ill be happy with it. Would be nice if the chargers just came with the handheld though; I wouldnt mind paying extra for a better one, but these really should be bundled with the product.

Its ridiculous that the 3DS doesnt automatically come with a charger. But as a working adult, spending $10 more for a charger is only an inconvenience. If youre thinking about buying some other off brand charger for your 3DS, dont do it. Just spend the $10 and get the official one. Itll last much longer than those cheap made in China ones.
