I have always been in love with the Animal Crossing series and this game is no different. It is a perfect little relaxation game. The only thing to note is that you need to make sure your DS can read amiibo cards since this is specifically tailored for amiibos. Love it!

Beware: I received the Animal Crossing New Leaf Edition, but it’s not the Welcome Amiibo as in the amazon photo shown (Amiibo Compatible version. It’s the regular one, which is much cheaper to find elsewhere. Falsely advertised.

I thought this game was going to be a tedious trash chore game - and it is, in a way, definitely a chore to check in on your residents and make money. I only got it because a friend wanted me to and it was only $20. But theres something really relaxing about it and I havent put it down since I got it one month ago. Its definitely not a game for everyone, but if you like doing monotonous tasks over and over for ample reward like I do (runescape), this game is for you. The amiibo update is great, its nice to see a game like Animal Crossing getting so much attention this far into its life (I think it was released in 2012 originally) and if you get this game, I recommend getting at least one pack of their new amiibo cards to go with it (the welcome amiibo set) just for that extra layer of entertainment. The cards let you send the character on it to the campground where you can ask them to move into your town or buy an item from them that you can only get from the cards. Plus, you can kick out any villager of your choice if your town is full. There are only two major qualms I have with this game, the first is in regards to laying customized tiles - an extremely tedious process as you lay them down essentially one at a time or in a 3x3 grid if you mash the drop tile button over and over. The worst part is no items can land on the tiles and picking up an item nearby a tile is the same button to kick a tile into oblivion - in other words, a lot of tiles disappear when youre just trying to pick up a nearby item... Second, people who visit your town from both local wireless and internet have the ability to destroy your town, ransack it, and plus hit your villagers in the head with a net (which doesnt actually do any harm, its just mean, ya know?) Im not sure why they didnt make one simple update that could have fixed both these problems: putting the town into builder mode. If your town is in builder mode, you should be able to kick tiles, chop trees, and do work on your town. if its shut off, nobody should be able to change the town. No kicking random tiles when youre just trying to grab a pear off the ground, and no strangers chopping down all your trees, forcing you to turn off the game to reset (and then deal with resetti....) I hope and pray they continue giving this game this much attention and add some kind of builder mode or another solution to those two major problems. Aside from that, its a great game and it has a lot more to it than I expected. Every day I discover something new I can do, buy, expand, or collect. The games multiplayer is great as well and I highly recommend it with a friend you trust wont cut down your trees when you arent looking. But be warned: if youre using a shoddy internet connection and you disconnect during the multiplayer session, it will treat it as a soft reset and youll lose your progress since the multiplayer session started or you last saved (so have whoevers town youre in save frequently since they have the power to do so). And when youre on the island fishing or catching bugs for money you can save by doing an island tour every inventory or so. Anyway, Im going to go play it now. I hope this was helpful for anyone on the fence - just get it. Its only 20 bucks and if you dont like it just give it to someone you think will enjoy it! EDIT: Over two years later I have 700+ hours logged and still play it on a weekly, if not daily, basis. Unfortunately, the amiibo cards are out of production and quite expensive now. Still a great game though and Im looking forward to see what the Switch game will bring to the franchise.

I paid more for this listing because it stated the amiibo card was included..it was not. Beware. (Game is otherwise fine and in new condition)

I had the first edition of New Leaf when it first came out...but I lost my 3DS and games! When I finally got around to purchasing a new 3DS I just HAD to have this game immediately. Its a perfect game for all ages and I find myself playing and being entertained everyday! One important thing to note: this game does introduce the ability to use amiibo cards...however if you dont have one of the newer versions of the 3DS, youll need to get an amiibo card reader. Not too big of a deal unless you plan on playing with these cards, though.

Its clearly listed as including the amiibo card in at least two different places in the description, as well as in the answered questions, so I felt fine paying a few dollars extra for this. When I received the game without an amiibo I contacted the sellers who said theyd been trying to get Amazon to update the listing to be more accurate. If thats the case, it bothers me that theyre selling the exact same product for a higher price than other Amazon sellers and box stores who do provide accurate descriptions of the product. The incorrect description may not be the sellers fault, but the mistake is allowing them to successfully sell the product for a higher price. 1 Star for misleading description 5 Stars for the game itself

I received the game itself, although in different packaging (see picture) than what is shown in the product pictures. However, I did not receive the Amiibo card that the product description explicitly states that the product includes. I am giving one star because this is the first time I have ever made a purchase on Amazon where I did not receive what was shown, and I feel the product was falsely advertised. Disappointed.
