My hamster, Buffy, got this today for her new 50 gallon bin cage. I wouldnt recommend this for cages much smaller. I dont think Id put this in my Purvue 528 cage, and its a nice big cage. Im just emphasizing, this thing is big. Buffy has ventured in a few times. I hid some treats and mealworms in the furthest compartment to entice her. She seems to like it so far. Im really really hoping she takes to it and it encourages her to burrow. As far as my impressions, this thing is impressively solid. The wood is smooth, no splinters and no weird chemical smells. I bought the leg supports so that its not just sitting on top of the bedding. I used water soluable non-toxic wood glue to keep those in place, as they didnt seem to want to stay on while I was setting up the new cage. I love that the top lid comes off easily for cleaning or access to the hamster if needed. I also love that it creates a kind of platform. It was the perfect spot for Buffys sand bath. Im really happy with how this adds to the look/feel of the cage as well. Im very impressed overall.

The hamsters absolutely love this. I have two hamsters and each have their own hamster house. This is where they sleep. They build their sleeping nest in one of the rooms and store food in the other. Very happy with this purchase.

My hamster stay in this house all the day time. He very likes it!

Im actually using this outside to kill rats. I put a trap in the last chamber. I did this to save the possums and other wildlife that i care for in the area. I know I know. I dont like to kill things but I have a real problem in the back yard. If I had a hamster I would also buy this for him. Its very well made and for the $ its a deal. The top comes off easily for maintenance. There is no bottom, so it just uses whatever flooring you put it on. Very nice and well made. It comes with a little bit of scratch glue paper for your little guy to groom his nails. Makes me want a hamster.

This thing is the cutest. I just got it today and put it in our dwarf hammie’s new cage. We have the Prevue 528 so this is perfect to put under the ramp to help her get up a little easier. My son wanted to cover it in bedding to camouflage it and I thought it was a great idea to keep the too clean. Our girl is exploring her new home now so we’ll have to give it time to see how she likes her 3 room house.

My larger siberian hamster does not enjoy many toys or shelters, but loves this hideout. The wood is smooth and of great quality. Very spacious for toys and is easy to move through. Not easily stained and the top easily comes off and goes back into its place
