Noctua NH-C14S, Premium CPU Cooler with NF-A14 PWM 140mm Fan (Brown)

> 3 dayAfter much research and vacillation between water vs air cooling, I went with the noctua. My Skylake 4ghz clocks to 4.7ghz with this--with water maybe I could get a little more but it doesnt matter to me; I mostly run it at under 4.5 anyway. The fan is dead silent and mounting the fan on top, as shown here, allows my low profile memory not only to fit under it but to be inserted or removed (ATX case). I also like the orientation of the radiator. Why? Physics--the farther out the mass from the point of attachment, the more leverage on the motherboard; this orientation with the radiator parallel to the motherboard keeps the mass close minimizing the leverage--the fan also blows right down onto the memory.

> 3 dayI purchased this cooler because I had an awkward computer set up. Firstly, the case is too thin for full-sized tower coolers. And secondly, I have high profile memory. This made it almost impossible to find an air cooler that would work in my rig. But the NH-C14S was the answer.

Greater than one weekMuch bigger than I was expecting but it seems to work well. Nearly silent with the fans running <50% (I have an extra 140mm fan so I am running with the dual fan configuration). Generates a small amount of noise with the fans at 100%.

I am using this on a 2700X CPU and a Tomahawk B450 Board and right now it is running at 105 degrees F ... It is quiet but then again I am not a gamer but it seems to do the job ... even when my CPU is maxed out I have only seen the temp. in the 120 Degree area, wish I could say the same for my GPU ... but it is a older one, to be replaced soon... If you have a M/ATX case it wont fit, I can tell you from experience ... one way it gets interfered with by the Blue Ray Drive and the other way by the rear fan... it is a big unit ... I see people complain about the colors of the fan, if that is the case order a 140MM that you like but I really like a quietness and I have maxed it out.... You can mount the fan on the top or on the bottom and yes it clears the memory .... Hope this helps guide your decisions ... I am really beginning to think on these reviews that some people just like to downgrade everything ... I am happy with everything in my system

02-06-2025So Ive had this cooler for a few months now and absolutely no complaints, it tames my ryzen 7 5800x no problem. I have the fan in low profile mode with the fan blowing towards the socket. Ive done multiple tests where Ive had the fan blowing away from the socket and I saw that it will run 5-7 degrees hotter. Definitely recommend for a semi low profile build with a reasonably hot CPU. Installing this was a breeze with the secufirm mounting system, not sure about Intel since AMD is clearly Superior but Im sure its just as easy.

> 3 daycooler très silencieux et efficace, possibilité de rajouter une autre fan..un peu volumineux par contre donc faire attention si vous avez beaucoup de RAM ou une grosse carte graphique

> 3 dayBought this to fit a Silverstone gd09 case for a htpc, just fits and everything works perfectly and is quiet. Highly recommended although its a bit pricey and a little tricky to install
